The Constitution vanishes
[edit]I deleted
- "The President wants to preserve his sole right, under the US Constitution, to declare war, and denies he is a pacifist."
as factually inaccurate. Under Article One, "Congress shall declare war, the President shall wage it." How did this slip past...? Trekphiler 14:40, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

I've never read the novel in question, but the plot spoiler section claims that the US president is attempting to preserve his right to declare war. That right belongs to the Congress, not the president. |
