Blimey, this page has so much writing in it - too much I would argue. There's so much minute detail under Production, it's overwhelming. And most of it is about such minor things. PitterPatter533 (talk) 21:12, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest, I'm surprised this hasn't been picked up before. As the user that has contributed the vast majority of the article's content, I admit my inclusionist tendencies have meant it's engorged more than it needs to be - and it means I have a hard time cutting things down as I have trouble discerning if certain pieces of information have enough value to be warranted a mention; I had already had help in this after submitting the article for quality review some months ago, but that was prior to a mass addition of content two weeks ago. I had considered the possibility of breaking the article up - i.e. creating an article for each series (or season; Australia seems to use those terms interchangeably to the point it's obnoxious and unclear which one should be used), and therefore splitting the Production section up (and helping the Reception section too) - but I am unclear whether The Newsreader as a television show is of sufficient significance for that to be appropriate; yes, it's incredibly well-reviewed and one of Australia's highest-rating shows, but I don't know what the 'criteria' is for such treatment, so-to-speak. I would appreciate your response and feedback on this. Phinbart (talk) 02:21, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It is a brilliant show and thoroughly deserves its accolades. It reminds me of one of my favourite US TV series, The Larry Sanders Show. Does anyone know if it was in any way inspired by that US show? CatNip48 (talk) 16:37, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
