Contestant Occupational Description
[edit]@BrandonT0421: and @2601:584:C400:6E83:F173:422B:AD31:3F24: The occupational description should be concise and not content awards. @Musdan77: and @BlueMoonset: CCamp2013 (talk) 03:14, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
- Agree: Mentioning awards – or saying "legendary" or "award-winning" – is called "puffery" or peacock, and makes it non-neutral. Also, these descriptions really should be cited, and that would help cut down on conflicts on content. And to clarify my last edit, I removed "retired" because the descriptions are about their "background" / what they are "known for". They aren't known for being "retired". --Musdan77 (talk) 16:39, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

CCamp2013, you removed "Dish Nation co-host" from Porsha Williams's description. Why did you remove this, when this show has more than 1 million viewers a day? --Distelfinck (talk) 01:31, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
Contestant's Hometown
[edit]@Pileoswag27163: I looked at a majority of the contestants article's and nowhere does it state what you are saying, it actually states the exact opposite. You MUST cite all your changes. Chase (talk) 18:28, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
Trump ousting
[edit]Can we get some clearer language as to the means by which Trump departed the show? To simply say he "left" to focus on running for president seems to ignore that NBC very publicly fired him from the show last summer. I think the current edit leaves a possibility for readers to infer Trump could or would return to host if he doesn't win the election, which won't be happening. Politicizing
[edit]Removed some blatant inflammatory politicization from the entry by unregistered user. Please maintain neutral point of view, and provide citations. RobAtSGH (talk) 14:37, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
Trump remains an executive producer of the Apprentice
[edit]He will continue to hold a ceremonial position and receive salary per episode. He was never fired by NBC. Fake news should be removed from wikipedia. http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/donald-trump-mark-burnett-celebrity-apprentice-executive-producer-1201937420/ 207.245.44.6 (talk) 16:53, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- Par for the course, I suppose: the article doesn't say he was fired. Kindly read more carefully please. Drmies (talk) 18:13, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- Per the Variety and as I added yesterday, MGM the production house is the one keeping him as EP; NBC said they wanted to sever ties from his comments, which (ORish) likely led MGM to find another person to host to satisfy NBC. Trump claims he left on his own volition. We don't know who's right so we present both side, and the fact MGM still has him as EP. --MASEM (t) 18:16, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- This statement "NBC stated that they had decided to sever ties with the show's former host Donald Trump resulting from comments he made during his presidental campaign in 2015" in the article is not true. There should be a reportedly attached to it. 45.58.83.234 (talk) 18:19, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- "NBC wound up cutting its business ties to Trump in July 2015", "You're fired"--"Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump". That's pretty clear, at least in the real world. Drmies (talk) 18:37, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

- Is there a formal statement from NBC stating they fired Trump? Unless there is one, one cannot assume the USAToday report is correct. RS sources employ columnists who sometimes make up fake news that get published without vetting. 207.245.44.6 (talk) 21:52, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- The USAToday source easily serves as NBC's formal statement on how they cutting ties with Trump. There is probably some formal documentation between NBC and Trump that are "the" prove you want to see, but I very much doubt that NBC and/or Trump will produce those under confidentiality requirements. And several other sources affirm separately the USAToday statement (that is, the statement originates from NBC spokespersons, not any other news website). Also keep in mind that Trumps response, some months after NBC's statement, did reflect on what NBC had said in his counterpoint. So, no, this is not "fake news", just more a matter of "he said, she said" claims that we'll never know the full truth so we'll report what both sides have said. --MASEM (t) 23:14, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

- More specifically its not that its not true, it is that we have no way, without seeing the records NBC has, to know if is true. Since we have conflicting, reliably-sourced claims by both entities (NBC and Trump) we present both without judgment of whom is right or not. (From what I understand, in television and many other industries, it is the broadcaster or publisher that has final control on casting, irregardless of whom the production group wants. So it makes sense that NBC could nix Trump as host, but MGM retain him as producer since NBC cannot control that.) --MASEM (t) 19:42, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- Masem, sorry, but I don't get it--USA Today reports it, why should we doubt them? If it weren't correct, NBC would have notified them and there'd be a correction. Drmies (talk) 01:52, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
- By the same accord, why should we doubt what Trump said about leaving on his volition (per THR interview)? We have primary sources claiming different things, but no way to verify it without access to confidential info, so we simply report it as "NBC said X, Trump said Y - either way, Trump is no longer host." --MASEM (t) 02:46, 10 December 2016 (UTC)

request to remove USAToday as an RS on Celebrity Apprentice
[edit]In this report, Donald Trump is described as the executive producer of Celebrity Apprentice. This is incorrect. He is not the executive producer, he is an executive producer, the other being Arnold Schwarzenegger. Because USAToday can't even get this simple fact right, it does not deserve to be an RS on this subject.

- No, you're pointing out an issue on language and grammar. The article starts with "the" EP, but later says "one of several". That's just a bit of spotty writing which happens all the time, but they still get the fundamental fact right. --MASEM (t) 23:17, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- IP, you're walking on very thin ice, and what you propose is ridiculous. Thank you Masem. Drmies (talk) 01:54, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
Phrase
[edit]Masem: Both episodes featured "You're terminated", but he also said the other phrase after this one in the second episode. The main line is "You're terminated." --Chase | talk 17:31, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
- Ah, my bad. I heard the Hasta part but must have missed the terminated one. --MASEM (t) 17:57, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
Please no spoilers
[edit]Please remove the spoilers in the elimination order — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.80.29.126 (talk) 01:06, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
- None of the info in the elimation order is a spoiler: the episodes where they were eliminated have aired so that info is fair game. WP does not employ spoiler warnings, though obviously if someone posts future unverified info, we'll remove it appropriately. --MASEM (t) 02:59, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
