Incorrect information

"It will be incredibly fun to make movies - something no other game has allowed you to do."

Not entirely correct - Microsoft released 3D Movie Maker for Windows in 1995, which essentially allowed you to create (albeit fairly basic) 3D movies. At least two variations were also release (Nickelodeon 3D Movie Maker, released in the US and UK, and the Doraemon Character Kit Expansion, released in Japan only). Neutrality

I added the NPOV tag originally. I reread the article today and could not find any significant problems with it. Going back and comparing with the article as it was on November 21, we basically have a completely different article. I'll go and remove the NPOV tag. Re: The delayed release of the game. There was never an overhaul of the engine - it's rate of development continued at a steady pace. Originally players were intended to make short trailers with the game. A trailer would represent each movie the player's studio released. More than a year into development Molyneux pushed for the ability to make full-blown heavyily customised movie. This required a great deal more content [animation/scenes/models] and features than originally planned. Towards the completion of Fable (late 2004) the game was not being paid the attention it needed to finalise the movie-making and sim design. Around Chirstmas 2004 the game unwent a 'redesign' spearheaded by Molyneux. This didn't result in much of the sim design being thrown away, simply because there was close to none in the first place. Part of this redesign included the concept of putting information in bubbles instead on the HUD (called SITT [Super Interactive Tool Tips] internally, a phrase coined by Molyneux, which were also brought across to B&W2 late in development) and the concept of interacting with building by revealing their blue-prints and dropping charactera and objects on them. Restructuring the Article

Does anybody else think it would be a major improvement if we separated the article into four sections (like the Business Tycoon aspect, Star Management aspect, the actual Movie Making part of the game, and the online community part of the game) --Nebmesch5 02:16, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

Until Lionhead Studios OFFICIALLY cans The Movies for the 3 consoles, stop editing the page to make it a page of lies. I provided a link that said they need to find a new publisher. DJs

I was just playing The Movies and Kristen Lou started DJing from mid-late 1991 instead of 1992. Is this correct, or does the DJ change vary from game to game? --RKingdom 22:24, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

The DJ can appear a year or two earlier, depending on what inventions have been discovered. By uncovering a new invention earlier then expected, it can give you the capability of developing movies of a different style. Expandability and customization

The first person writing will be removed. This is an encyclopedic article, not a gamefaq. The entire paragraph needs to be cleaned up, it doesn't make a lot of grammatical sense "The Movies has many virtual and other "Easter Eggs", undocumented features, unannounced features, unannounced content, oddities, glitches inside "The Movies" including all current EP's patches. Something useful like a missing manual but not that comprehensive. Primarily for the benefit of movie making users but may also benefit game players."

I'm also questioning the necessity of the the "List" that is there. Your average reader isn't going to care that Joe Schmoe in Outer Mongolia was poking in a file and found a texture. If you want to create an easter egg list do so, but make sure they can be verified and they fit the definition of what is considered an easter egg. Seriously, I've tried my best to make the article readable. In future, could editors try to avoid writing gibberish like this:

"Despite the TMO Communites Expectations for a Third Movies Game. Lionhead is to Busy on The Dimitri Project and Fable 2 to consider working on another New Movies Expansion Pack. So far Lionhead dosent Consider realesing a 2nd Expansion Pack intill 2008 or 2009. Not intill they finish work on The Dimitri Project and Fable 2. That paragraph sums up all that was wrong with the article; trying to make every word start with capital letters, poor spelling/grammar and basically it looks like it should have been written in crayon. Language

The language spoken by the actors/directors is Simlish (a language spoken in The Sims and its sequel). Though this type of simlish language used in The Movies is slightly different from the one used in The Sims because the actors say the same sentence over and over again while acting.

That should be changed, because Simlish is only spoken by the Sims, that's why it's called Simlish, and I think the term itself is a trademark of Maxis. So I'd rather use either Gibberish or Gobbledygook. Any objections? Valerius Myotis 21:47, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

I think gibberish implies that it is words that can't be understood. They really just go "errrn er, errrrn" whereas simlish goes "Shplegen shplagan a tucalar." And that is how excessiveley I play those two games. ElGenius 18:13, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Wiki article or Instruction Manual?

When I read the Gameplay section of this article, I feel like I'm reading instructions on how to play the game. Especially from the line "Be sure to pay very close attention to the critics' reviews of that actor." Just seems out of place for a wiki article. --Cyber95 13:27, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

AMD fuckup...no mention?

When this originally came out for the PC, it refused to work properly on a large percentage of PCs containing certain AMD processors, why is there no mention of this in the article, it's a historical piece of info.
