First Spot
Is it me, or was the original spot meant to be taken seriously? I think it didn't turn humorous until the following spot. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.239.59.135 (talk) 20:05, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
- It's called dry humor. All the ads are supposed to be funny (although the actor in real life apparently shares more than a few qualities with the character). 70.72.211.35 (talk) 20:17, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
Eponymic intro
Wouldn't it be more appropriate to say that the MIMITW is a "character in an advertising campaign styled after him..."? Might be picky, but, it seems a tad clumsy to open with the assertion that the man himself is an ad campaign... 209.33.195.105 (talk) 02:52, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
- There seems to have been some changes since this was posted, but unless there's a source that indicates MIMITW is based upon Goldsmith (Goldsmith claims it's based on Fernando Lamas), we can't really say that anyway. 70.72.211.35 (talk) 20:19, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
Music quotes
This adweek article indicates the work was not by Liebert, so I removed that from the article. LFaraone 01:59, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
Notability
Does this deserve its own article? It's not like there's an article for every advertising campaign out there. While there are a few exceptions of ads that became part of Pop culture ("Where's the Beef", The Geico cavemen, etc.) Is this really one of them? Should this get merged onto the Dos Equis article? 69.116.75.74 (talk) 20:37, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
