Three books?

[edit]

User:86.154.132.246 modified this article to say there are three books. That user has a history of inserting false information into Wikipedia, and google does not find the titles of the three books. Is there any truth to the three book theory? 88.112.56.9 (talk) 17:37, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There are several books which are part of the Highland Novels series by Compton Mackenzie. They include Monarch of the Glen, Whisky Galore, The Rival Monster, Ben Nevis Goes East, Rockets Galore. Some such as Monarch of the Glen deal with life at Glenbogle Castle, the seat of MacDonald of Ben Nevis; the Chieftain chronicled by Mackenzie, Donald MacDonald of Ben Nevis, is the twenty-third of his line. Others such as Whisky Galore deal with the inhabitants of the idyllic islands of Great Todday and Little Todday. From time to time, the two sets of characters meet, as in The Rival Monster when Ben Nevis visits Great Todday. Ben Nevis, Roderick MacRurie (landlord of the Snorvig Hotel and the 'uncrowned king' of the island of Great Todday) and Joseph Macroon (postmaster and principal merchant of Kiltod, the metropolis of Little Todday) were all members of the Inverness-shire County Council and were occasional opponents and allies. Completely wrong.

[edit]

This is not the plot to the NOVEL Monarch of the Glen. It is the plot to the BBC Scotland TV show. — Preceding unsigned comment added by IChickee (talkcontribs) 01:54, 3 September 2010‎ (UTC)[reply]

This article is incorrect: It is NOT a synopsis of the novel.

[edit]

This article is incorrect. It is NOT a synopsis of the novel. I am not familiar with the television series so cannot say whether it synopsises that series accurately. The article needs to be edited - it is grossly misleading as it stands.Harlay (talk) 22:02, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The usage of The Monarch of the Glen (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) is up for discussion, see talk:Monarch of the Glen (painting) -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 03:24, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
