Draped in Red

Draped in Red is a song composed by the lead singer, Wayne Husey, in commemoration of Liverpool's Champions League triumph in Istanbul. It is mentioned on Soccernet - Draped in Red. The downloadable file provided by the sports website is Draped in Red.mp3. I didn't want it to appear like I'm vandalising the page and frankly, I don't know where to include this piece of information. Maybe, a trivia section should be created? Someone please help out as I'd really like to include this piece of information on the page but am unsure of as to where it should be placed (for the present, I've mentioned it in Wayne Hussey's page). Length of article and other issues

This article is overly long, bloated with trivia, and has a lot of grammar / spelling / tense errors. I'm half-tempted to revert it back about 6 months to a much more readable though less comphrehensive version. Over three years on, and despite the efforts of those above, the fancruft, hear'say, point of view, masturbatory adulation etc. continues. Like many such articles, it suffers from a lack of verifiability, not truth, see - Wikipedia:Verifiability. Plus editors appear to be giving their version of what they perceive to be the facts/truth, thus violating Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. The cornerstone of basing contributions on reliable sources, not personal experience or opinion, is fundamental, as outlined here - Wikipedia:Reliable sources.

Less bluster, more citable sources, please.

Article name

You probably aren't aware, if you're not in the US, that British acts with names that conflict with American bands tend to be marketed as "<name> UK" here. Matthew Brown (Morven) (T:C) 16:32, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

On releases in the US the band is known as The Mission (UK). It also the URL for the official band website. So it does make a lot more sense IMHO. --Karst 12:28, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Hinkler's departure

I'm not 100% sure, so I won't make the change, but Simon left the band before the Toronto show. He left after the Montreal show, over a rumoured dispute involving bringing girlfriends on tour. I was at the Toronto show and Wolfie was on stage to start the gig. IIRC he was playing backup guitar on that tour as Huss wanted to focus on being the front man. Huss made a plea for Simon to come back before starting Butterfly On A Wheel, but at no point was Simon on the stage that night.

discography

I started making individual pages for the band's albums, the first two are done. I'd appreciate some help though. I figure when the pages are finished we can get rid of that section in the article. That should help clean up the page nicely. Naufana 23:59, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

The page has now been protected due to persistent abuse of our fair use policy. Please restrict the use of unfree images to the individual album pages, where they belong. There is nothing stopping us from putting them there. But a giant gallery of copyrighted images is not allowed. Riana (talk) 14:26, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Carved In Sand release date

I'm not going to dispute the album release date, there seems to be sufficient info online to support this. My CD (South African pressing) indeed says 1986, so it must be an error - nice to clear it up! :-) However, the song "Butterfly On A Wheel" already *must* have been receiving airplay no later than the second or third quarter of 1989, as I finished high-school and left home permanently in December 1989, and my memories are associated with my parents' home. Debate: is "Resurrection" a solo album?

I know there's no page for it so far, but in anticipation of one being created at some point, is it worth starting a debate about whether it constitutes a Mish album or a WH solo album? And on a related note, the page for Bare currently has a red link at the bottom to the category "Wayne Hussey albums" - should other Mission albums (and, in that case, the Sisters' First and Last and Always) go into that category? yes. Resurrection was recorded by Wayne in late 1999 following the reformation of the group, however it does not feature any members of the band as was then bar Wayne himself. Since Wayne is the only continual member of the group it seems that an album he recorded with no other members, intended for release under the band name, during the bands existence, is a band record. Additions to "members" list

Given that the band is now no longer in existence (well, until Our Wayne announces a reunion tour in a couple of years' time, anyway), wouldn't it make sense to change the "members" section of the info box? While the band was still active, it made sense as it only featured current members - but given that there are now no current members, it looks a bit exclusionist.
