New Yorker review
[edit]The brief mention of Daniel Mendelsohn's New Yorker review implies that it is negative and an outlier. This isn't really true - it is a balanced piece of literary criticism which addresses all of Mantel's work and is generally positive about TM&TL. It does argue that TM&TL is less satisfying than the earlier two novels for a number of reasons, and that it is a little flabby at times. I do feel that the Reception section generally needs expansion given the importance of this novel in both literary and commercial terms - summarising complicated analyses as 'laudatory' and so on doesn't convey much useful info. --Ef80 (talk) 14:32, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
