Movie version

[edit]

"A movie version of The Memoirs of Cleopatra was made a year after its release; it is not faithful to the book." - can't find this at imdb. Can someone provide a reference? Kathy A. 17:13, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It may refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleopatra_%281999_film%2, this film, which WAS based on Margaret George's novel. 69.141.165.175 16:50, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Wikiwikiwakoo[reply]

Nitpick: A factual error

[edit]

On page 392, we can read "Then the anticipated rising of Sirius, the star that had been below the horizon for seventy days, took place. A brilliant spot of light, it signaled the first day of the new year […]". That is a garbled description. The Egyptian new year was signaled by the heliacal rising of Sirius, that is to say the day when Sirius rises at the same time as the Sun (and thus becomes visible again because it moves into the night sky). Sirius was not "below the horizon" before the heliacal rising: it was invisible because it was in the day sky. Urhixidur (talk) 14:55, 17 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
