Isn't the whole basis of this show about guessing who the masked singers are? Half of the minutes are dedicated to the clues and the panelists trying to interpret them. If anything, the competition seems to be there to provide a reason for the panelists (and the viewing audience) to guess who they are. They specifically carve out YouTube videos on the channel just for who the panelists are guessing. It seems to me that the final guesses are not "trivial", but integral to the show's content.
