Finchley
[edit]"The painting is centred on a bustling street in Finchley, London, England, specifically Tottenham Court Road." Technically, Finchley has only been in London since 1965 - previously it was in Middlesex. Tottenham Court Road has never passed through Finchley, though conceivably a different road running south from Finchley was so called in the 18th century. Or the scene is not in fact set in Finchley. What do the sources say exactly? Johnbod (talk) 20:36, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, sorted. Johnbod (talk) 20:41, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Are these in fact the Brigade of Guards? If so, which regiment? Johnbod (talk) 20:43, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- I'll try and find out. Sorry for the late reply. —Anonymous DissidentTalk 14:24, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- I couldn't dig anything up; not sure if Hogarth even specified further than the "King's guards". —Anonymous DissidentTalk 01:11, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
