Removed false information

Reason for high price?

Can anyone add anything to this article in reference to why the baskets are so expensive? Does the company offer some sort of really good warranty or something? I've seen used Longaberge baskets being bid up to $300 on eBay.... just curious as to why people want them. The pictures I've seen online don't make them look any different than the $5 wood baskets I see at the grocery store or the craft store.

They are MUCH higher quality than a basket you'd see for five bucks somewhere. I agree that they are still a bit pricey for me. These baskets are expected to last for hundreds of years. NickBurns 17:22, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Company History

The Longaberger Company's success is owed largely to its interesting history. I believe that plays a large part in defining the company and I'd like to see more information compiled and posted to this page. Basket headquarters

I'm currently living in Newark, OH, so it's cool to see reference of this. I added the bit about how the basket building is likely to be unique, as his daughters have vetoed constructing similar buildings since the death of their father. If necessary, I can probably get sourcing. It's one of those things that "everyone knows" around here. Me, I'm an import. I just know that my sister, who was fairly high up the ladder and had been making a lot of money, has been devastated by the company esentially destroying her source of income.
