Wikified the article; also cultural revolution has other meanings so I made it 'revolution in culture. --GwydionM 19:43, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am not qualified yet to write something in place of it, but the second paragraph of the current article is lifted verbatim from the front page matter of the Broadview Encore Editions of this book. Plagiarism ain't cool, yo. 04:15, 17 July 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.241.225.179 (talk)

If it's a quote, edit to show it as such.--GwydionM (talk) 07:39, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Attempt to delete

[edit]

This is unreasonable. It is a very significant book, republished as recently as 2011. If the article includes some bad material, remove that material. GwydionM (talk) 10:24, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a proper place to discuss deletion proposals? I could not find one.

Attempt to gut article

[edit]

Is someone scared of the case put in the book, and seeking to discourage others from hearing about it? If the text as it stands is imperfect, that is no excuse for wiping it out. GwydionM (talk) 08:09, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The content was a copyright violation of this page. I've reverted the restoration of the copyrighted content. I added reviews from The New York Times, the International Journal of Cultural Policy, and The New Leader as well as restored the review from the New Left Review. The book meets Wikipedia:Notability (books)#Criteria, so I've removed the proposed deletion. Cunard (talk) 08:25, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Had anyone complained about copyright? Most publishers tolerate it, provided it is not done for commercial purposes. Do you view it as a transcendental sin that cannot be tolerated, even if the actual owner does not mind? But so long as there is a decent description, that's OK.--GwydionM (talk) 08:35, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Copyright violations are illegal and while individual violations may be ignored by publishers at any time they could choose to not ignore them, which is not legally safe for a large website like Wikipedia. Hence why we are cautious rule-wise. PARAKANYAA (talk) 02:44, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please assume good faith, and read WP:COI (as you seemingly edit articles related to Raymond Williams). Janhrach (talk) 16:28, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
