Cleanup tag
[edit]- I added a cleanup tag. I'll try to get back here when I have more time to edit, but the article has the tone of something copied-and-pasted from a promotional brochure, down to the non-encyclopedic promotional "trivia" items. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rjhatl (talk • contribs) 11:03, 2 October 2005
- I did NOT copy and paste this article and I am very offended that someone would say that! I have been following The Like since they began and have a bunch of articles and interviews which I've gathered information from. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.30.18.134 (talk • contribs) 05:24, 4 October 2005
- Learn to recognize the difference between, "the article has the tone of something copied-and-pasted," (honest opinion of style) and, "I think the article was copied-and-pasted" (accusation of plagiarism). Getting offended over the former is not only unreasonable, it's ridiculous. In any case, personally, I would prefer it if someone who thought my work read like I copy/pasted it was honest enough to say so, so that I could recognize that and take steps to avoid it in the future. -- Hux 16:10, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

- Howdy, I've done a few tweaks - like putting capital letters in the song titles and making the sentences flow a bit better. The info's all there i think the style just needs some reworking. Perhaps we could put up a link to some of their lyrics or some more pictures? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Missykrissy (talk • contribs) 17:34, 7 October 2005
Cleanup Tag
[edit]Okay, I've made an attempt at a wholesale rewrite, using the information already here and cutting out the stuff that's fairly unencyclopedic. I'm hoping it flows a little better, and if those of you watching this feels it works, we can probably remove the cleanup tag. --badlydrawnjeff 16:40, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
Members Biography
[edit]I think we should create and article from each band member.
--Sarah sofía 22:55, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- I guess, if you've got enough info on each of them to justify it. Ric | opiaterein 00:20, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
Indie Rock v. Pop Rock
[edit]I don't think there's any conceivable way to claim "Indie Rock" as the genre of a band that is on Geffen. Changing to Pop rock. --Sauzer 20:37, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
They are no longer on Geffen. Should we change the genre back to "indie rock"? AroundLAin80Days (talk) 23:25, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
Actually, allmusic now lists the band's genre as pop/rock. So I'm inclined to change it to that. AroundLAin80Days (talk) 19:01, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
New Band Member
[edit]The Like just posted some pictures of september 2009 rehearsals here (http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=6193281&albumId=3036151) and there's a 4th band member who appears to play keyboards. idk if someone wants to try to work this into the article or not, but i think it's a valid thing to be changed on this article which seems to have been relatively stagnant (as has the band) for quite some time. Order of Band Members
[edit]The article lists the current band members in the following order: Elizabeth Berg, Tennessee Thomas, Annie Monroe, and Laena Geronimo.
However, the band's MySpace page and the liner notes for Release Me list them in a different order: Elizabeth Berg, Tennessee Thomas, Laena Geronimo, and Annie Monroe.
I plan to update the article to match what could fairly be described as the official order. AroundLAin80Days (talk) 00:06, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
Be accurate!
[edit]According to the Allmusic review of Release Me, the new band members are featured prominently on the cover photo, but were not involved in recording the album. Of course, this is an aspect that PR reps don't want to stress (male studio musicians are less sexy), but an encyclopedia should be more accurate. -- 87.152.136.48 (talk) 12:24, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Fair point. I'll work on making this clearer. AroundLAin80Days (talk) 19:35, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Hiatus
[edit]Laena confirmed that the band is on an indefinite hiatus on her twitter (http://twitter.com/#!/RawGeronimo/status/68062350049165313). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 180.222.6.118 (talk) 12:43, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
I don't think that this qualifies as a reliable source according to Wikipedia guidelines, but I have added this to the article anyways in the expectation that something more official will come out in the near future. AroundLAin80Days (talk) 18:48, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
I have not come across a reliable source indicating that the band is on hiatus. So I'm removing the hiatus-related changes. AroundLAin80Days (talk) 19:15, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
