List of Legend of Korra Characters pt 2

Bringing this discussion back. Seems the consensus in that previous discussion from 2015 and in Talk:List of Avatar: The Last Airbender characters was to split the List of Korra characters from the List of ATLA characters. However, there were concerns if there was "enough out-of-universe content to make such a page look like an encyclopedia." User:Solarbird offered their sandbox for a potential article to be drafted but has since gone inactive, along with the discussion on this split. I've recently worked (and am still working on) User:Solarbird/sandbox to try and improve the article. I've tried to add more out-of-universe content and removed overly detailed plot summaries. While it isn't ready yet, perhaps interested editors can help/chime in on whether they are still in support of a split based on the current potential of the sandbox draft. Otherwise I'll just merge the contents of the sandbox draft to List of Avatar: The Last Airbender characters, but in which case the latter should be renamed to reflect the fact that it is a list of both ATLA and Korra characters.

Pinging User:Sandstein and User:Adamstom.97 who are the only still-active editors involved in that 2015 discussion. Bennv3771 (talk) 10:45, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

Having a quick look at it now, it looks like a good start to me and is probably fine to be moved to the mainspace. - adamstom97 (talk) 17:51, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
Follow-up question: what would be the best way to move the sandbox draft to the mainspace? List of The Legend of Korra characters has page history, so deleting it to make way for a move wouldn't be appropriate. WP:histmerge? Or just straight-up copying-and-pasting with an edit summary noting the contents were WP:split from List of Avatar: The Last Airbender characters? Note that all contents in the current version of the draft were either taken from List of Avatar: The Last Airbender characters or contributed solely by me. I'm not very interested in this topic anymore, but in general, I think that we should have fewer articles with purely in-universe content rather than more, per WP:NOTPLOT. Moreover, the two series do overlap with respect to characters. Accordingly, I remain skeptical about a split. Sandstein 07:15, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, splitting would not be helpful for readers and editors. With more Avatar comics being released in the next years there are going to be more interconnecting storylines, background infos and maybe characters. Even appearances of Team Avatar's children are possible in the future. I like the way it is now. --H8149 (talk) 22:10, 28 February 2018 (UTC)

I've removed this article from the associated category. This wasn't discussed in text, just mentioned in the infobox, and my quick BEFORE did not show any RS discussing LoK as an example dieselpunk. If you want to restore it, please find good source first. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:44, 21 July 2020 (UTC)

Do you think we should mention Voltron in the influence section?

I was wondering whether we should mention Voltron under the influence section as it not only does is have the same animation studios as Korra but most of the same stuff. Mark Taylor purposely went out of his way to get the Korra crew over to DreamWorks to work on Voltron as Korra was finishing up production. Just a thought.
