Data per WP:MUSIC:

  • Billboard album chart peak #127 (Hey Joe)
  • Billboard singles chart peak #31 (Hey Joe)

No other chart singles or albums. No awards. No major tours recorded. Two albums released plus one 1982 compilation. Jim Pons went on to play briefly with The Turtles and Frank Zappa, but according to AMG this work was insignificant ocmpared with The Leaves.

Nationally borderline per WP:NMG but probably qualify due to local notability in California.

If you are saying that this article should be deleted then I would disagree, as The Leaves deserve a footnote in Rock history as having released the first version of the rock standard "Hey Joe". While this single peaked at #31 in the US nationally, I believe it was #1 (or close) in California. Design 12:33, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Band Name

[edit]

I don't have a copy, but long ago my body had an original pressing of the Hey Joe album and the back liner notes had the same story of the origin of the name that Nuggets had later.

FWIW, between Hey Joe, and Bill Pons' later career, the band is notable enough for an article.
