Fair Use
[edit]I removed the four 'fair use' notices from 2007: the images were deleted so they are no longer relevant.--GwydionM (talk) 07:58, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
References in Le Guin book
[edit]I made these more specific. I could not find the remark because they looked more "futuristic", so I removed it.--GwydionM (talk) 10:17, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Jane Roberts
[edit]Spirit medium Jane Roberts has a cameo role as the grandmother, and was likely cast as a nod to the similarity between the story's plot and her ideas about dreams.
Jane Roberts, the spirit medium, was only 49 at the time of this film. The actress Jane Roberts who plays the grandmother is much older, and starred in other films as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.135.37.234 (talk) 06:32, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Agreed, according to IMDB this Jane Roberts also appeared in:
With Intent to Kill (1984) (TV) .... Elderly Lady ... aka Urge to Kill Miss All-American Beauty (1982) (TV) .... Dottie Blaine The Lathe of Heaven (1980) (TV) .... Grandmother
By the time this film was produced the medium Roberts was largely confined to her home due to crippling rheumatoid arthritis, and by 1984 she had passed away —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jastevens42 (talk • contribs) 11:31, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Draftsman?
[edit]This article states that George Orr was a draftsman. While he may have been in the original book, I don't think his profession is mentioned at any point in this adaptation. Jmdeur (talk) 22:37, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
- correct, i just watched it, no mention of his job beyond his working in an office. I have rewritten the summary, but unfortunately i could not make out the Aliens philosophising, (dubbed copy) so i have left it out. I hope someone can complete the summary.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.234.123.226 (talk) 07:04, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Why is oneirologist in quotes?
[edit]Why is "oneirologist" in quotes in the Plot section? It appears to be a legitimately recognized word.
Best regards, theBaron0530 TheBaron0530 (talk) 19:17, 13 May 2016 (UTC)theBaron0530
- Hey @TheBaron0530:, I removed the quotes: the original authors of the plot section appear to have a healthy amount of skepticism about that kind of interpretation of dreams. Keep asking questions, but small edits like this tend are usually uncontroversial, so you should feel free to Be bold!!! and make the tweak edits, Sadads (talk) 04:58, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
