Film basis
[edit]Hi ! I ask for sources about Shelley. I do not see any reference in my books. The plot does not look like the book I read. Strangely, it looks more like a short story of Wallace G. West (The Last Man) appeared in Weird Tales and Amazing Stories in ... 1929 ^ ^ --Morca (talk) 01:17, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
- None of the promotional photos, movie theatre hand bills, etc. for "The Last Man on Earth" (1924) posted at IMDb mention Mary Shelly or her 1826 book "The Last Man". The plot synopses for the novel and this movie have nothing in common. So far I haven't seen any reason to believe the two are connected. -- Naaman Brown (talk) 17:11, 31 August 2018 (UTC)
- Just a heads-up, that comment was from 2012. :) Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 17:16, 31 August 2018 (UTC)
- Article currently lists source as being a story by John D. Swain. Deanlaw (talk) 03:25, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
Does this film actually exist?
[edit]I have looked for any trace of this film online and have not been able to find anything dating to 1924 and coming from this film. No picture, no video, nothing. Even the Youtube video claiming to be the 1924 film is actually the 1964 film. 73.194.9.155 (talk) 04:50, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
- Added a still found in a 1924 Fox advertisement to commons. Deanlaw (talk) 02:17, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
