Not sure how to write sources and stuff, but some info can be found at [1]Talrinys 20:45, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Erm, The Legend of Bigfoot was going to be released before Music, Magic, Myth. Actually it was never officially called The Legend of Bigfoot. He also released the Palace of the Pretender, which mostly just the same tracks as Music, Magic, Myth. 80.2.79.174 22:45, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

I have removed the two notices that request more citations and sources of his notability since a lot more has been added to the article since they were added, and citations have been added. We are now sure that he was signed to Aftermath Entertainment for a while and became a protégé of Dr. Dre, has performed as a guest MC for the Gorillaz, and has performed at the Lyricist's Lounge. I think that makes him notable but would appreciate others opinions. --Jswf (talk) 11:56, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

not a sell out

[edit]

i read somewhere (maybe on his website) that last emperor never dropped an album because they wanted him to do the "catchy" gangsta type music but he refused to sell out, so they never pushed his album on the label.. aw found it..

  • Surprisingly, two short years after graduating from Lincoln, he obtained a major recording contract from Aftermath Entertainment. (then a fledgling label without the talent of Eminem) The young introvert Jamal, who once created stories inside his bedroom to escape the harsh realities of city life, amazingly became a protégé of Dr. Dre. (Yes, the legendary producer of Snoop Dogg, Tupac, as well as the co-founder of Death Row Records).
  • Despite the treats by label executives (A&R) working on his projects, to be released or shelved, he endured and continued to compose his type of music---a testament of his commitment to his dream. For the next several years, he would hear all types of non-supportive suggestions like, "Dumb down your lyrics!" "Use profanity…..be street!" "You have to compromise….you know projects get shelved?" —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.26.36.140 (talk) 05:18, 24 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]
