Release date
[edit]The release date and its related citation are the first case I've seen where Wikipedia cited an uncited Discogs record. Usually, it's the reverse. Discogs (or some other music site) adds a release date and cites and uncited Wikipedia page. The date itself is laughable in that there are dozens of newspaper articles ALL saying the album will be release (in the U.S.) on the 18th of January, 2011. That some special version of the album got released earlier does not upend the album's official release date. Promotional copies are sent out all the time and their early arrival does not signal the album's release. Moreover, the entire album was available for streaming from NPR well in advance of the retail release. Should *that* be the album's release date? No. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.114.107.67 (talk) 05:11, 22 August 2018 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: no move. As noted below, verbs are capitalized in title case on Wikipedia, even short linking verbs. - GTBacchus(talk) 01:28, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
The King Is Dead (album) → The King is Dead (album) — 'Is' should be 'is', as this seems to be the standard. This will also make the link on the disambiguation page link here instead of being red. 79.177.13.229 (talk) 18:08, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- "Down By The Water" has been released with the tag using a capital "I" in the album title, so the capitalization is part of the official naming. Also, an article name should never be changed to fix a disambiguation link; the disambiguation page should be fixed to redirect to the page. Dfsghjkgfhdg (talk) 21:22, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- Official site uses "The King Is Dead", I don't think it should be moved. - Theornamentalist (talk) 21:48, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose. According to our article title capitalization rules (documented at WP:CAPS), forms of the word "be" are capitalized in album titles. Jafeluv (talk) 13:22, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose per Jafeluv. Mhiji (talk) 04:57, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Gillian Welch's contribution
[edit]I don't know why this articles only lists Welch for one song. In fact, she's on seven: http://decemberists.com/wp-content/uploads/DEC_TKID_StandardCD.pdf 98.245.121.56 (talk) 17:30, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Calamity Song music video
[edit]Could mention it; it's based on Infinite Jest (with symbolic propeller beanies): [1], [2] etc. -- AnonMoos (talk) 06:46, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
