There are some informations. I hope somebody can translate the details in english. Sorry, my english is not so good.
John Kelly (John Michael, *8. März 1967) und seine Frau Maite Itoiz (*27.01.1975) haben mit einer 11-köpfigen Band ihre Show „Tales from the Secret Forest“ am 15. Juni 2006 (Münster, Premiere) und am 17. Juni 2006 (Düsseldorf, 1. offizielle Music-Show) vor begeisterten Fans erfolgreich präsentiert. Sie spielten unter anderem auch am 3. Juli 2006 im Zuge des FIFA-Fan-Festes in Dortmund auf dem Friedensplatz. Das dazugehörige Album „Tales from the Secret Forest“, von dessen Erlös ein Teil an den WWF fließt, ist am 30. Juni 2006 erschienen. Die erste Single heißt „Corazón Herido“. Ab 22. April 2008 startet die 1. große Deutschlandtournee von John Kelly und Maite Itoiz, die das Künstlerpaar durch mehr als 10 Städte führen wird.
Patricia Kelly (Maria Patricia, *25.
Jimmy Kelly (James Victor , *18.
Joey Kelly (Joseph Maria, *20.
Barby Kelly (Barbara Ann, *28. April 1975) hat sich 2000 aus dem Bühnengeschäft zurückgezogen.
Paddy Kelly (Michael Patrick, *5.
Maite Kelly (Maite Star, *4. Now I translated the informations and give it in a table. I hope, it's ok for you.
You can see better, who is a member of the band and who has children or not. --AndreaMimi (talk) 16:42, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Who'll Come With Me (David's Song)
[edit]The song instrumental is from Vladimir Cosma "Who'll Come With Me (David's Song)." It was a germans TV-4 divider. The name was "The Adventures of David Balfour". First broadcast of the first part was on 08.12.1978 at ZDF. And later by the kellys set to music. 93.82.87.123 (User talk:93.82.87.123) 02:18, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
Look
[edit]I think their unique visual appearance deserves mention. I've never seen any group dress the way they do. Why do they do it? Are they Romany (Gypsies)? Are they Hippies? Someone removed the section about their look but I think that's wrong because their unique style is a very integral part of the group. --Mezaco 23:01, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Why is their look classified as 'ethnic'? What does this mean? Why are long skirts any more 'ethnic' than short ones? Doesn't everyone possess ethnicity? It's a bit like saying their look is 'human'.Tsuguya (talk) 08:13, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
Genre
[edit]Do The Kelly Family really come under the label of a "Rock band"? I really don't think their music can be classed that way. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.42.158.95 (talk) 16:51, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Dan's first wife
[edit]It is true that the Kellys always avoid mentioning that Kathy's (and Danny, Caroline and Paul's) mother is not Barbara-Ann, but that doesn't make it any less true. Everyone who has a reasonable knowledge of The Kelly Family's history knows that, it's mentioned on most websites about the band and some of them (like this one and this one) even have a picture of her. And all of them agree on Barbara-Ann's birthdate being 2 June 1946. So I hope user AndreaMimi will stop changing that or someone has to block her or something. Judith M-S, you have the patience of a saint! G51 (talk) 12:20, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- FYI: German Wikipedia talk page finally brought the evidence:
- In the wake of this Andrea was blocked unlimited in the German Wikipedia. Hope this helps understand. Wschroedter (talk) 01:42, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Ressource
[edit]Peter Wendling, Die Kelly Family, die Geschichte einer Supergruppe, Heyne 1995 (German Book)
The Fanpage http://kellyfamilysite.de/about_them/Biographie/biographie.htm
use this book as an ressource for example on the Biographie page.
Wendling, "Die Geschichte einer Supergruppe", page 19, 1995. And on page 21: "The first child from Dan and Barbara Ann was Danny, born 1961."
So it can stay in the article !
@Judith
Go back to the German Wikipedia and leave me alone ! I have ressources, you not. That's the differnce.
@WSchroedter
Don't belive anything, which comes from Judith. She doesn't like me and try to mobbing me out.
I have ressources, she not.

Paddy Kelly - what's about him ?
[edit]Paddy has no children. Where are the ressources for this note ?
You can't find anything about this note on the fanpage - or other site on the internet - above.
Paddy lives in a convent and studies theology.--AndreaMimi (talk) 12:12, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Next ressource
[edit]Also on this fansite, was this book named: Lisa Reinhard, Die Kelly Family und ihre Erfolge, Heyne Verlag 1995.
On page 8 there stands (I translated it in english): "Daniel was born 1930 and was married since 1957 with Barbara Ann."
But, it can also be a mistake from the writress. --AndreaMimi (talk) 10:32, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Dan's first wife (again and hopefully for the last time)
[edit]As I wrote on User_talk:AndreaMimi, all good sites about The Kelly Family say the first four kids are Dan and Joanne's, and all of them say Barbara-Ann's birthdate is 2 June 1946. ([1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]) I also have copies of some of the Kellys' birth certificates and Barbara-Ann's birthdate is there. I can scan them if necessary. She wasn't born in 1940. And the first four kids are not hers. All online resources agree. I don't intend to discuss this any further. I obviously won't be here all day every day reverting it, but I will revert it every time I see it.
As for Paddy, I'm not the one who wrote about him having a daughter. As far as I know he lives as a monk in France. ----

Another Infos
[edit]I see. It's ok, you are right.
Can I change something else in the article ? It's about one of the wifes, I think it's Joeys. I don't know her maiden name, but I find' a link - thank you to you G51 - to put this information in the article.
http://www.kellyfamilytree.de.vu/
I wish you a nice day. --AndreaMimi (talk) 15:30, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
I added the informations about Jimmys - not Joeys (sorry, my mistake) - wife, her maiden name, in the article. The ressources are the link above.
See you. --AndreaMimi (talk) 15:33, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Of course you can change something else in the article. You can change whatever you think is going to make the article better, just don't forget to find reliable sources for everything. And about Paddy, I never heard about him having a daughter either. I think that was just vandalism. I'm glad we solved the other problem! Have a nice day too :) G51 (talk) 18:22, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Mis-read Incest!
[edit]I only stumbled across this Wikipedia article today and had no knowledge of this group before reading it. I just wanted to offer a small editorial criticism: at the end of the second to last paragraph under "Background," you have the phrase "Caroline and Paul left the band and married." My apologies, but that definitely reads as they married each other. There might be a better way to phrase that to lessen confusion :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.79.204.37 (talk) 17:40, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
___ Hey! Where's a picture of them? What? I'd like to see the picture of The Kellys ;) ___ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.254.76.160 (talk) 10:58, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
Facts?
[edit]An un-named editor recently added the information that The eldest brother of the family, Daniel, born 1961, had sung with "The Kelly Kids". My understanding is that this is not the case. The older children did not perform as "The Kelly Kids" until the were about 10, 11, 12, at which time Danny was already in the United States, having been taken back to the US by his mother Joanne. Danny does not appear to be on any of the early family videos that are on You tube.
Can anyone find any source that indicates that Danny did in fact perform with The Kelly Kids? I can't, and all the apparent indications are otherwise. Amandajm (talk) 15:36, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
Kosovo
[edit]I removed this addition (so far the only contribution of Jeff Sony (talk · contribs):
- The group was paid large amounts of money by various western non-governmental and governmental organizations to make the song "Children of Kosovo" in 1999, despite the fact that the group members do not know anything about Kosovo (not even to locate it on the map).
I think it would be an interesting detail if we can find a source for it. But it does not belong in the lede, and we would need more details - which organizations gave money, and what amounts? I also think that the word "despite" is POV in this context, as it suggests that a knowledge of Kosovo or of Kosovo geography should have been a precondition for receiving the money.-- Austrian (talk) 21:59, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- The whole addition was inappropriate. "large amounts" means what? "Various" is waffle. How does this person know that none of these ten artists knew about Kosovo? I would presume that they watched the news, just like most other thinking people and were aware of the problems, regardless of whether they could pinpoint the city on a map. Entire article needs clean-up
[edit]I've just tagged the article for three problems: (1) it appears to be written from a fan's point of view, rather than a neutral point of view, (2) it reads like a press release, and (3) it needs additional citations for verification. To give just a sampling of problems: under "The Kelly Kids: Early years it states "The patriarch of the family, Daniel Kelly Sr., has been described as a 'grizzled, ageing druid aesthetic'...", "But Dan got sick of the 'American Life'...", and so on. Anytime someone uses the phrase "has been described as", that's a serious red flag. And according to whom did Dan "get sick of the 'American Life'"? Under the heading "Members: Daniel Jerome (Danny)" it states "He's a good painter and often communicates with paintings", etc. There are probably well over a hundred similar claims that I saw in the article that had no sources, had no objective foundation, and/or were insufficiently notable for an article. C'mon, folks. This is Wikipedia, not a fan zine. Clean it up or it'll get deleted. Bricology (talk) 05:54, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
- And additional, but very significant problem, is that while the major performing members of the Kelly Family are listed in boxes, with just a brief summary, all the occasional contributors to the band have been given section headings and a full biography. This gives a seriously overbalanced importance to the wrong set of people. Amandajm (talk) 13:19, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
