That's wierd. I could have sworn I created this page with a picture a couple of months ago.

Where did it go?

The picture was licenced under the creative commons licence too. I may have created it under my definition12 username. Supposed 18:17, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bloc Party

[edit]

I'm pretty sure the Joiners arms pub mentioned in the Bloc Party track is the Joiners Arms on Hackney Road in East London. They're often loitering around there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.221.44.236 (talk) 20:45, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it does refer to the one in London. I've removed it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.121.169 (talk) 10:45, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jazz at The Joiners Arms, Southampton

[edit]

The Wikepedia article fails to refer to the blues roots in 1968 - which someone needs to research. Most importantly, though, there is no reference to it's place in Southampton/South Coast jazz, where it hosted independent promotions and was also home to Southampton Jazz Society for many years. All jazz was played there, from Dixieland to fusion, and there were many famous soloists visited from USA and Europe during the 1980s in particular. This is an outline, but I have much archival information from my father and people I have known - which will necessarily be condensed down for purposes of the article. The extant article doesn't even seem very thorough about its Rock heritage, which really followed on (and overlapped) with the years of jazz and blues. I personally remember many nights of many styles of music there, and there is much documentation. It has been a very important venue in the south of England, having an independent dedicated back bar room, and some either enlightened or indifferent landlords! This is for discussion, not for the article, hence no citation.Stuarthants (talk) 23:20, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
