Ister is NOT Danube, but Dnestr or Bor-istenis river!!!!!!!!!!!!

[edit]

It's a common misunderstanding and confussion!!!!!!!! Danube in Herodotus History is called Hipanis!!!! And you can even trace that Dnestr, Ister and Boristenis sounds very very similar and are distortions of a real name which gone forever. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.146.120.203 (talk) 23:50, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually "Ister" is the Greek name of Danube River (more correctly "Istros"). The Latin name was Danuvius. Consult the "Danube" entry.
