No good reason to reverse edit about Kiss's "Love Gun"
[edit]The reference that I provided for the derivation from "The Hunter" of the Kiss song "Love Gun" consists of a quote from Paul Stanley in his autobiography Face The Music, as reported on the website https://wimwords.com/2014/06/25/deep-cuts-the-songs-that-inspired-kiss-classics/. This is a legitimate reference. The edit should be restored. (talk • Ferdinand Cesarano (talk) 14:52, 19 March 2019 (UTC)contribs) 14:27, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
- If so, Stanley's autobiography should be used as the source. Wimwords.com has video links which contain copyright violations. I tried a Google book search of FTM, but didn't find "The Hunter", "Albert King", or "Love Gun".[1] Can you supply the quote and page number? —Ojorojo (talk) 15:43, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
- I suppose that I can go through my copy of the book and find the page. If I find it, will a mere mention of the page constitute a good reference? It seems strange that an unclickable reference is preferred to one which can be followed by the user. Ferdinand Cesarano (talk) 14:52, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
- Ideally, a linked reliable source is better. However, if one if not available (wimwords.com is user generated – how do we know it contains accurate quotes, is copyright compliant, etc.?), an unlinked reliable source should be used. —Ojorojo (talk) 18:18, 19 March 2019 (UTC)

- OK, I found it. The quote, exactly as it was reported on that website, appears on page 117 of Face The Music. So how should it be listed in the references of the article? Ferdinand Cesarano (talk) 15:36, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
- I see that you have added the reference in the appropriate format. Thank you. Ferdinand Cesarano (talk) 18:07, 19 March 2019 (UTC)

- I added the ref (easier than trying to explain it here). I made the text more in line with the website quote – although Stanley used some similar lyrics, he doesn't actually say this. Change as you see fit. Maybe the "Love Gun" article can be expanded to compare/contrast the lyrics in the refrain:
