dortmunder is not the one that's approached by dr.amusa. it's actually andrew kelp, dortmunder's brother in law. dortmunder has to be convinced to join in, and than he agrees to run the job. incidently, this film is extraordinary. strange that its very rarely mentioned by those that were involved, especially redford. it's better than most of his other films. also quincy jones' music seems impossible to obtain even though it's also a masterpiece.Longinus876 15:32, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Hot rock2.jpg

[edit]

Image:Hot rock2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

world trade centre trivia

[edit]

Why is a helicopter flying past a building and the scene not making a later tv edit notable, even as trivia? Am I missing an anachronism or something? If so then it could probably use being better explained in the article, rather than just assuming it to be self-evident. 87.246.64.2 (talk) 13:18, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's the 9/11 event that is being referenced. A painful reminder is sometimes avoided, in the interest of good taste. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.122.62.231 (talk) 12:16, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not true?

[edit]

Long ago I heard that this was the first Hollywood movie where bad guys got away in the end. Seems ridiculous now that I think about it, but can anyone speak to this?

Vandals keep trying to make this article dumber. Redford clearly says BANANASTAN as in the book. It rhymes. Maravelous (talk) 17:13, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

it is generally quoted as "banana stand" [1], [2], [3] given that's what it is in the book [4]—blindlynx (talk) 17:34, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I can give you 6 citations with BANANASTAN but rather than roboting why not click on the youtube link what a great idea. What does Redford say? Maravelous (talk) 19:02, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It sounds like he quickly says 'bananastand' which is what it is in the book and in quotes. I appreciate that there isn't much difference between the two, perhaps both should be included?—blindlynx (talk) 19:40, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In the correct case it rhymes. In the second case they add a d. But this has made me significantly stupider and I have to bow out of the discussom Maravelous (talk) 20:15, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
