Notable omission?

[edit]

Did I blink, or did they really neglect to mention Richard Pryor and Lenny Bruce in the 8/5/2018 episode, Gone Too Soon? I know Pryor wasn't that young, but they talked about others older than him, such as George Carlin, Don Rickles and Joan Rivers. It's just my own personal taste, but I always thought of Carlin as the greatest comic of all time. However I do include Pryor in my personal top 5, and Bruce in my top 10 for his sheer influence alone on most who came after him. Many greatest comics lists that you come across will usually list Bruce, Carlin and Pryor as three of the top five, with Pryor often in the top spot. This is one of the few times that I've felt that CNN missed the mark in their usually spot-on documentaries, like the ones about the decades from the 60's and forward.
