Ages of the Hardy Boys
[edit]Y'know, I've been re-watching the show, and I can't find anywhere where the show either states the Hardys ages or claims they're two years apart; the episode "Jade Kwan Yin" makes a heavy implication that both are still in high school. Are you sure you're not confusing this with the 1995 show, with Paul Popowich and Colin Grey, which DID set the brothers as two years apart? In the books at the time of the 70s show, the Hardys are only 1 year apart. Zenfrodo (talk) 02:28, 24 January 2012 (UTC) [1]
Re-edited to RE-correct the Hardy Boys ages. AGAIN, at no point in the show are Frank & Joe listed as being "two" years apart. They are ONE year. "TWO" years is from the 1995 show done by Nelvana TV. The 1970s Universal Show has them at ONE year. Please stop changing this, or cite your source. In the books, the brothers are ONE year apart. The show has them as ONE year, not TWO. Do the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew Know Each Other?
[edit]This article states that "the characters were known to each other in the framework of the books". Actually, no, the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew were NOT known to each other in the books at that time; only the blue and yellow hardcovers existed at that point (and only up through Witchmaster's Key for the Hardy Boys). The Hardys and Drew know each other in the current paperback series, but those were NOT in existence at the time of the '70s show. I'm editing this article to correct that. Corrected ep summary for "Defection to Paradise" part 2; the ep doesn't take place anywhere NEAR Bayport, and is only in Hawaii. Zenfrodo (talk) 16:36, 27 November 2012 (UTC) [1]

Bayport's Location
[edit]Edited Bayport's location. In the show, Bayport is set in Massachusetts; Chief Collig states it explicitly in the episode "Mystery of the Jade Kwan Yin", the episode "Mystery of Witches Hollow" shows the Hardys as having MA license plates on their van, and Fenton says "Bayport, Massachusetts" AGAIN in "House on Possessed Hill". The TV SHOW sets it in Massachusetts. The BOOKS place it in NY. Please stop correcting this article, since it's on the '70s show -- for the show, MA is Bayport's correct location. Took out a comment about how Bayport and River Heights were probably close together, due to the "crossover nature of the show". In the show, the two cities were NOT close. Illinois & Massachusetts are nowhere near each other. In every crossover episode, so-called proximity of the two towns is not an issue & not necessary -- the Hardys & Nancy Drew meet in outside locations such as Los Angeles, New Orleans, & Europe, and that, only in five episodes. At no point do they meet in their respective hometowns, and five episodes does not make a "crossover nature" of the show. Zenfrodo (talk) 01:09, 2 November 2013 (UTC) [1]
I have to admit it's been a long time since I read the books as a kid, but I don't remember them ever saying that Bayport was in New York state. Bayport was certainly somewhere along the northern Atlantic coast of the United States, but exactly which state was never clear to me. What evidence from the books can you cite to support the claim of Bayport being in New York? The thing is, New York state doesn't actually have a lot of Atlantic coastline if you ignore the islands (Bayport is never said to be on an island), so Bayport would have to be pretty close to NYC for it to have its own bay opening onto the Atlantic (which it definitely does). Yet in one book, I recall the boys having to take a fairly long train ride to get to NYC. This would seem to suggest that Bayport is no closer to NYC than Connecticut, if not Rhode Island, Massachusetts, or even New Hampshire. I'll be inclined to remove the reference to New York state unless it can be substantiated. Craig418 (talk) 17:26, 24 November 2017 (UTC)
