Public Domain status

[edit]

The sources saying this film is PD are unreliable. Also, a search of the US Government copyright database shows the registration was renewed.[1] -- GreenC 16:33, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also this thread at IA, though not very information, it documents others who have raised concerns about supposed PD status. GreenC 16:38, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Blob

[edit]

The author of the article states that Steve McQueen was quite unknown at the time. However, he had a starring role in The Blob almost exactly one year previously. Sharp eyed audiences might indeed have remembered him. L. Thomas W. (talk) 15:50, 31 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Great?

[edit]

Where has the word 'Great' in the article title come from?
Having just watched the film, there is no sign of it there.
Indeed, one of the article's pictures, which looks like a still from the movie, shows the title; but it's not there, either.

RASAM (talk)

See the first sentence for explanation. -- GreenC 20:23, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, so what tells us the "first sentence" ? No rebuttal of the remark RASAM made. One wonders who placed "Great" in the title. "Great" was included in title in some other countries, but its original US title was without "Great", obviously, wasn't it ? An alternate title including "Great" is presented as official film title here, that's it. Weird. --2001:A61:483:B001:5C04:991A:7517:354A (talk) 21:55, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

John Egan, a mastermind ?

[edit]

Well in his late fifties ("when I was born..1897...") this man (after, one can assume, several prison terms) still struggles to land the one, the last "big thing" as a robber. A "mastermind", after all ? Really ? (remember when George asks Egan in the bar if he actually knew a man succeeding in this job). --2001:A61:4D7:1301:C4C4:B879:BDF3:9B4E (talk) 16:38, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
