Tim Russert Mention
[edit]I just watched a repeat of this episode and noticed Peter's last line ("You know I just finally figured it out, she looks like a really hot Tim Russert.") was censored. Anyone else believe a mention of this is necessary? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.65.1.27 (talk) 01:36, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
i actually came on to wikipedia, because i just saw the episode again yesterday, and noticed that the line was censored,as you did.so i wanted to find out who peter reffered to,as i had forgotten. obviously, they took it out because russert died not too long ago,and i suppose they considered it in poor taste(even for family guy).thanks for mentionning who it was,i was curious about it.so yeah,i think its worth mentionning in the article.id do it myself, but im not sure how.and my spelling and grammar are not very good,as anyone reading this can attest to. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.122.60.156 (talk) 00:58, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Stewie's Sexuality
[edit]Although this episode gives us plenty of evidence on Stewie's sexuality, resist the urge to lable him as gay. --BrianGriffin-FG (talk) 18:56, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- Now hold on, maybe this has been discussed on Stewie's article but why has everybody rule out that he's gay? Has everybody forgotten about the romantic interesthe's had with girls? Janet, Olivia, Liddane, the erection he got from watching the Buddy Cianci cheerleaders, and in the possible future the encounter with coworker Fran which Stewie himself encourage on his older self Stu. If you were to categorize his sexuality, it would fall more along the lines of bisexuality. Also his age also could help support that his sexuality as ambiguous. Sarujo (talk) 10:31, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
I didn't say that he's not gay, I'm just saying that this episode will lead you to believe he's gay. I agree 100% with the bisexual theroy, but I'm saying the urge to lable him as "Gay" is very tempting after this episode. --BrianGriffin-FG (talk) 14:11, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
I say that he is just a baby so he is nothing yet. But who cares, he's fictional. On a related note, what does "split me in half" mean? Sorry if I sound ignorant, but I'm just confused. Tojo940 (talk) 03:53, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- I was just trying to help stop everyone else from writing him "gay" as Brian has in various episodes.
- "Split me in half" is intened to be a euphemism for penetration. As a woman would remark on a guy who had a really large penis as "If he were to stick that in me, he'd split me in two" or in this case "split me in half". Sarujo (talk) 21:45, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Notes Section
[edit]List-en! Keep the bullet points in the notes section. And don't take out any information. If you do that, 1)the section will be less organised and 2)the more info we have, the better the article. Take a look in any encyclopedia, look up WWII, and it will have a HUGE article on it split into smaller sections. Okay? --BrianGriffin-FG (talk) 14:17, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
I totally agree. The bullet points make it much more readable and organized. Tojo940 (talk) 03:53, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Dylan and Brian's age
[edit]Personally, I can see a bit of logic behind Dylan being Brian's son, despite being older than him. Perhaps Dylan ages faster that the average human because he is, in fact, part dog. So he could be thirteen in dog years, but only two in human years. I mean, when there's a group of children born to an interracial couple, they are neither fully white or fully black. - 220.237.162.102 (talk) 06:13, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
That's a good point. I never thought of that. Then that would make Brian's line, "Well, thoes are in dog years" totally valid. Cool--BrianGriffin-FG (talk) 17:00, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Seems like the writer's made an unintentional point while attempting to be funny. However, this isn't a talk page for Family Guy but rather a place for discussion of improving "The Former Life Of Brian" article. K.H (talk) 04:39, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
Ok think about it Brian could have a 13yr old son because he was seven when the show sarted in '98. So Brians at least 17 so he could totlaly have a 13yr old. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.49.182.135 (talk) 23:41, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Way Too Much Trivia
[edit]More than half of the article is composed of completely unencyclopedia like trivia, Wikipedia discourages even minor list of trivia facts so imagine how big a flaw this is. Please sort these facts in the appropriate places as opposed to creating lists, it be much appreciated. K.H (talk) 04:39, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
Evil Monkeys Death
[edit]Is he dead for good or was it just a joke?? He cant be dead can he??!Fretwalkers (talk) 09:03, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- Obviously the writers can bring him back any time they want. Debating whether Evil Monkey is "really" dead is in-universe perspective, and not helpful in writing an encyclopedia. / edg ☺ ☭ 13:24, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- He's still alive in Hannah Banana. -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 05:20, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Brian's Doug Henning Impression
[edit]When Brian does his impression of magician Doug Henning, he says "Welcome to the World of Magic. Hope I don't get AIDS.". I've checked the Doug Henning article, and don't see anything that would associate him with the disease. So can anybody tell me what Brian was refering to with that comment? Sarujo (talk) 06:05, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- It was probably just a joke about Henning possibly being homosexual. Dayewalker (talk) 06:42, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- That's probably it as he did dress very flamboyant in his shows. There was also a Henning referent in the Harvey Birdman Pilot where Dr. Quest transforms into Henning when he goes off on a tangent about splitting atoms. To which Judge Mightor responds "Shut up you weirdo.". So people must have questioned Henning sexuality durring that time. Sarujo (talk) 17:26, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
South Park?
[edit]"The organist is playing La Cucaracha which Peter played for Paul McCartney in the season twelve South Park episode "Canada on Strike"." Could someone explain what Peter (a family guy character) has to do with South Park? --Skunkboy74 (talk) 06:56, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- I agree, that seems totally irrelevant. It's not a reference to South Park at all. Dayewalker (talk) 07:08, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
I will admit that the line doesn't make sense when you first read it due to how it's written. But when your watch the "Canada on Strike" it does make sense. On the episode, the gang ask what else was there to watch since Terence and Philip was on strike with rest of Canada. The camera then cuts to the TV showing a mock episode of Family Guy. Cartman screams and says "anything but that" and the gang leaves to do something about the strike. As they leave the camera show the TV in the background playing a non-sequitur featuring mock Peter wearing a sombrero and poncho performing on guitar La Cucaracha to Paul McCartney. Sarujo (talk) 16:32, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
Mention of censorship disappears
[edit]When the episode was rebroadcast a month or two later, it was right after Tim Russert had died. The episode makes joke saying Brian's ex "looks like a hot Tim Russert". The audio of this line was dropped for the rebroadcast. What the hell happened to the article mentioning this? PUT IT BACK. Please don't make me dig through the past edits and revert it. --98.232.180.37 (talk) 06:56, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
.... Ah screw it I'm doing it now. Fixed. --98.232.180.37 (talk) 07:00, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
- It needs a SOURCE though. Otherwise it is unsourced trivia/original research. DP76764 (Talk) 17:17, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Dude so are people acctuly censoring stuff to keep from offending people. Thats about something that was censored to keep from offending people —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.49.182.135 (talk) 22:34, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- there is no secret cabal censoring all mentions of censorship. or is there.......??????? Notnotkenny (talk) 23:42, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

- The lead should be expanded a little to include more background information about the episode. I like the way people are writing up the articles on The Office with a note about where its broadcast, some brief background on the show, the subplots, and a little more detail about critic responses.
- Is there a promotional image we can use for the infobox?
- Repetition: "The episode originally broadcast on April 27, 2008. The episode follows Brian... "
- Plot section: It would help if you put the voice actors in parenthesis after the characters they perform.
- Confused by this sentence: "The episode was written by one of the season's co-executive producer Steve Callaghan,..."
- "The episode marked the first appearance of Brian's son Dylan, voiced by one of the shows main voice actors Seth Green." -- This needs a reference.
- Also with the above, it implies Dylan shows up again in a subsequent episode. Does he? If so that will need to be clarified.
- It might also help to include a little on the deleted scenes you mention in the DVD release.
- You mention the guest actors in the infobox, but their roles there are not cited. Would be best if you added the roles next to the names in the "Production" section.
- I believe "Evil Monkey" appears in this epidsode, which should be included in the "Cultural references."
- The article is missing information on the market share and viewership when it first aired. This will need to be added and sourced.
- Dup links tool returns one result: "Brian Griffin."
- Checklink tool is showing minor issues with several links, see if you can fix them.
- Dablink tool returns no problems with disambiguation pages.
- I am placing the article on hold pending the above improvements. —Ed!(talk) 04:45, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
I reviewed the article 10 days ago, and pinged the editor seven days ago. Having seen no response in terms of either edits or a response, I must fail the article for GA. It will need to be renominated once it meets the criteria. —Ed!(talk) 13:56, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
The biggest cultural reference of alll
[edit]The biggest cultural reference in this episode is its title, which is obviously a reference to Monte Python's film Life of Brian, a film about the life of 1st century Judean crucifixion victim undeniably similar to that of another, more famous one. There is a reference to Meg being forces to watch lots of Python, but nothing explicitly saying this because it's so obvious to most of us reading the article now, but needs to be included against a future day when that undoubtedly will NOT be the case. 2600:1004:B16D:9A72:0:48:4076:8A01 (talk) 20:06, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
Of course, the title is a reference, and should be mentioned. Also, the Matthew McConaughey interview. Drsruli (talk) 21:46, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
