Confused at end of plot summary

Article says Nick is Richard's son. But it also states that, when Nick & Hailey escape the basement, Nick realizes they've been held in his father's - Rick's - house. Then it goes on to say that, since Rick's house is close by, Nick & Hailey decide to try to get there to hide. Something's wrong here.

It seems like Nick isn't Rick's son, but Clifford's son. It's been established that Clifford promptly paid his share of the ransom, but Rick didn't have enough money to pay his share. So those 2 fathers didn't tell Bob his son Jeff was already dead for fear their own kids wouldn't be released, & thus Bob's million actually paid Hailey's ransom. Logic dictates that, since Jeff is Bob's son, then Hailey must be Rick's daughter, since he's the one who couldn't come up with a million dollars, leaving Clifford's son to be Nick. I don't know if the house they've been held in belongs to someone other than Rick, even tho it says Nick recognizes it as Rick's house, saying Rick is Nick's father. Which seems peculiar, because why wouldn't Nick recognize his own father's basement immediately? I don't know if the 2 surviving kidnapped kids are trying to make their way to someone else's house, not Rick's, because it then says they realize Rick's house is nearby & think it would be a good place to hide from the pursuing kidnappers, even tho it also says Nick realized they were held in Rick's basement.

Haven't seen film, so don't know which part(s) of this is in error. Is there anyone who knows what's right/wrong here & can fix it? ScarletRibbons (talk) 20:13, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
