Early Show Predecessors
[edit]Shouldn't those shows go on their own pages (as they seem to be separate programs)? WAVY 10 14:48, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Saturday Early Show Not Broadcast On All Affiliates
[edit]WFSB does not broadcast the Saturday Early Show instead it airs a local newscast.
Does anyone know the Number of episodes that have aired M-F? NBC & ABC Morning shows both have the number of episodes on there articles we should get this updated.

I remember an article from CBS News saying that Julie Chen had officially left the program when The Talk debuted, yet she is still mentioned as an anchor of the show on this page and the "Anchors of The Early Show" template. While I am sure she may continue on the show as a correspondent, there has been no mention by CBS that she will co-anchor the broadcast when the new team debuts Jan 3, 2011. Perhaps she should be removed as an anchor on the page and template? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hosa83 (talk • contribs) 00:11, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
The Saturday Edition of The Early Show currently has no anchor team
[edit]Since the departures of Chris Wragge and Erica Hill for the weekday edition of The Early Show. The Saturday edition of the Early Show has no permanent co-anchor team as of January 25, 2011. Right now, Rebecca Jarvis (who is usually the news reader on the Saturday edition) and Russ Mitchell (anchor of the Sunday edition of the CBS Evening News) are serving as interim co-anchors while the network is searching for a new Saturday Early Show anchor team with Betty Nguyen (anchor of the CBS Morning News) temporarily serving as its news anchor.
The list of Saturday anchors is incomplete; at one time, Russ Mitchell and Gretchen Carlson (now on Fox News) hosted. Maggie Rodriguez and Erica Hill were both permanent Saturday anchors at one time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.32.226.73 (talk) 04:26, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
"Current"
[edit]Not to be facetious, but Charlie Rose, etc., have not yet taken over, so they should not be listed as the "current" hosts. . . . Samer (talk) 05:18, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
And Erica Hill was with the show since 2011, it shows 2012-present — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.44.132.78 (talk) 17:39, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
Article Lead
[edit]MOS for television mostly deals with series that could be syndicated. News shows are different in that they are original but never air again. The MOS for television gives the example of The Simpsons. This show could get cancelled, but it would live on in syndication for a long time, as well as on DVD... The show would be in a tangible medium in which is could still exist and be readily available for public consumption. Live TV News shows, however, cannot. Yes, airchecks exist somewhere I'm sure, but for intensive purposes are gone from airwaves forever and cannot be seen again. Take a look at Rock Center with Brian Williams. News shows are different, and I believe are exempt from the "is" required lead as defined in the TV MOS. Also, please don't report editors for vandalism when there is no intent to deliberately destroy the article in a harmful way. Please discuss further, and moderation can be used if needed.Taylor2646 (talk) 06:52, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
- You're going to have to start this discussion in Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Television, instead of here, and wait for a consensus before making your edit if you wish to change this policy. For the time being, your edit will be reverted until a consensus is reached. Take care! :) MegastarLV (talk) 15:21, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
There was another early show
[edit]dodundundundun...........it had a catchy tune, it might have been on in the 60's at 4 o'clock on saturdays and sundays, then the late shows were on after the news — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.164.74.34 (talk) 12:24, 4 June 2015 (UTC) It had a clock with music in the background
