Sorry about the delay in putting in the plot. I wanted to watch the film first, and it's got a lot of differences from the book. Reynardo (talk) 12:24, 7 December 2015 (UTC)
The sewing machine
[edit]The machine used in the film is the Singer 201K2. Here are some photos of it at the exhibition for "The Dressmaker" at Barwon Park Mansion at Winchelsea, including the model number. User:dorisandrocque is correct.
The one listed in the article referenced by user:jockzain, theSinger Sewing Machine 160 "1951 Singer sewing machine instrumental in The Dressmaker". Retrieved 5 November 2015. is not the one used in the film. A search for pictures of it show a machine nothing like the one in the movie. The Singer 160 is a machine made specifically for the Singer 160th anniversary, and is a digital electronic machine. <img src="http://www.sewingmachinesplus.com/media/products/singer/160/singer-160-with-bag.jpg"> (Sorry, not sure how to cite this properly)
- Also, if you read in the comments of the article, Sue Maslin, the producer of the movie, notes that the correct model number is 201K2.Reynardo (talk) 01:42, 17 December 2015 (UTC)
Therefore I am re-inserting the correct model number of the machine. Please, could everyone play nicely about this? Reynardo (talk) 01:36, 17 December 2015 (UTC)
Jocelyn Moorhouse describes the film as "Unforgiven with a sewing machine" but the plot is much more like High Plains Drifter with the red motif and the town burned down. Sicinius (talk) 19:47, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
