Children's Crusade and Heroin Addiction
[edit]The bit about Children's Crusade comparing World War I with heroin addiction seems to be based on a single mention of poppies in the song lyrics. This has nothing to do with heroin, but the bygone practice of selling poppies to support World War I veterans (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moina_Michael). A similar reference occurs in The Beatles' Penny Lane, in which a pretty nurse is selling poppies from a tray.

[edit]Moon over Bourbon Street is based on Interview w/ the Vampire and there was a lot of talk about Sting playing Lestat. Just wondering if any of that should be worked in there anywhere?

I'm pretty certain that Sting didn't play bass guitar at all on this album, although he performed all the guitar parts himself and played his van Zalinge electric double-bass on "Moon Over Bourbon Street". I remember at the time of its release there was widespread surprise that he didn't play bass guitar on the album. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.78.66.145 (talk) 23:36, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Actually, Sting played bass guitar on two tracks on this album: "Love Is the Seventh Wave", and "Fortress Around Your Heart" - you can easily hear the different tone and articulation of bass notes in these songs, in contrast to Jones's smooth jazz bass. Sting admitted to recording bass on these songs in an interview I've seen at stingchronicity.co.uk - a page which has been defunct for several years now, but featured very esoteric studio facts about many records, snippets of Sting's cryptic comments in obscure interviews etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.88.216.2 (talk) 15:21, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
