OK, I've noted your re-revert: thanks. Lets try having the discussion here.

First, I'm not at all convinced by whilst/while as UK/UK. I regard it as archaic/modern. Hence, given the book, whilst is entirely appropriate. Second, Crowley used Ae himself - e.g. Aegypt. Third, the policy on this has multiple lines.
