• Should it be "Book 2" instead of "book 2"?

• The Fellowship of the Ring link leads to the page for Vol. 1 of the series, and there isn't actually a page for the actual Fellowship of the Ring, so maybe a gloss instead?
  • Ah, updated the link target for Fellowship of the Ring (characters), which had been reorganised.

• Link Aragorn.
  • Done.
• The last paragraph in the lead sounds like Wikipedia is stating this opinion. Could it be rephrased to attribute whoever says this?

  • Done.
• Perhaps mentions that Frodo is Bilbo's nephew in "In-universe"?
  • Best not, they're actually both first and second cousins.
• Wizards is inconsistently capitalized.

• Link Dark Lord, as there are multiple Dark Lords in LOTR.

• Link Elrond at first mention.

• "declaiming" could be replaced by a simpler word.
  • Done.
• The entire prophecy extract contains too many duplinks; instead, you could use in square bracket notes explaining what each of the linked word refers to (e.g. Imladris [Rivendell])

  • Ah yes. Actually I think the use of links here is by far the least intrusive way to mark up the verse. Adding words in square brackets would make the verse longer and it wouldn't scan, forcing readers to trust to skip the bracketed words.
