Well, there is a spoiler warning, so that's a big sign that there may be... spoilers! Also, for that matter, it's still a matter of doubt if the listed result for to-be-aired bouts is actually what the results will be; there have been serious spoilers posted elsewhere that have, so far, agreed with what people were adding, but when it's time to predict what's going to be released, caveat emptor, as it were :). So far, that has only happened in one occasion that I'm aware of, and the spoiler was dead-on (victor and method of victory). I'm inclined to leave spoilers, if for no other reason than we can edit them out after the airdate. --Tthaas 10:28, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

When do the fights take place? Are they pre-recorded months before or close to airing dates? I ask because someone has entered the result for the Bundrage/Wright fight and if its the correct result, it kind of ruins the episode as I already know the result (Not that much since I hate Wright)

It's known that the bouts are pre-recorded, probably by several months, but I've been unable to determine when, exactly, that was. Boxrec only lists the air dates for these bouts (as opposed to the bouts for the original series, which Boxrec lists the fight and air dates of). So the Bundrage/Wright result which has been added is the legit result and not just someones guessing?

I don't know, honestly. If it's guessing, we can always edit it later. I will note that I heard a spoiler for one of the fighters in the final 2 on a forum, but have refrained from filling out the tourney tracker with him making it to the final 2 so far, even though the posting I saw has matched the fighter's performance in the tourney 100% (read: he's still in it); I figure that one forum posting about "[one of the contestants] said [soandso] won his way to the final 2" isn't sufficient, even if it *did* name opponents and methods of victory. Honestly, if Bundrage wins by unanimous decision, I'll be happy that the prior poster got it right. Perhaps they've got some inside information on it; either working for the California State Athletic Commission or for the production company, or the editing company, or being in attendance of the fight... there's plenty of ways to know ahead of time, I just don't have access to any of them. --Tthaas 11:44, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I think I know who you're talking about.. The boxing website that last year said Manfredo and Mora were going to be in the final weeks before it took place, have said this year that so and so will be in the final.

Spoilers

Do we want spoilers posted? 222.124.44.125 has put up some that cover the rest of the quarterfinal bouts; they've since been taken down by 24.189.160.101. I'm inclined to leave spoilers in place -- there's a warning, after all, and if the information is verifiable (read: cite your sources!), it's just an early version of what the page will be by the 26th anyhow. If they're junk, we can throw them out in the edit after the episode in question is aired. Anyone else have an opinion on it? --Tthaas 10:58, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

The Show is Rigged

In the episode aired on 9/19/06 in the match between Norberto Bravo and Grady Brewer one of the judges had Brewer 49-46. However Bravo knocked Brewer down in the first round, so that is 10-8 round. And as a result Brewer cannot get 49 points the most get could get is 48, so obviously that judge did not know what he was doing and cost Bravo the fight, or it was rigged.

I thought that too, but then realized, since the show is exhibiting 5-round bouts (much shorter than the bouts that the competitors normally compete in; most of them do 8- and 10-rounders), they may have changed the scoring away from the standard, and allow a 10-9 for a knockdown. I agree with your opinion; Norberto scored a 10-8 on my card for the first round, however, it's not proof that the show is rigged. Boxing scoring is almost always a subject of controversy, especially in close fights; the only way for a bout to have a clear-cut winner in almost everyone's eyes is a win by KO. --Tthaas 10:58, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
