Please update

The museum is requesting help in updating information in the article. Any help is much appreciated. Issues include:

  • General copyediting
  • Remove the What If? exhibit information (the exhibit is no longer in the museum.)
  • Add information on the new permanent exhibit National Geographic: Treasures of the Earth. (Press Release, MSNBC source, source, source)
  • Update information about the Collection (source).
  • Update the number of objects in the collection to 120,000. (in MSNBC source).

Please let me know if there are any questions. I'd be happy to help, I just can't update it directly myself, as staff of the museum.LoriLee (talk) 15:08, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Hi Lori, I would be glad to take a crack at it for you. :) —Charles Edward (Talk | Contribs) 17:51, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
I have made the factual updates, but don't have time for a thorough copy-edit right now. I will try to get to that another day though. —Charles Edward (Talk | Contribs) 18:13, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
Thank you so much Charles! So exciting to see you :). Look for some WikiLove on your page. Appreciate it! LoriLee (talk) 20:45, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
I think you are rather overdoing the COI concerns myself. If you want to do a copyedit & let me know, I'll happily check it over - I think that's a perfectly ok way to handle it. Johnbod (talk) 05:34, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

2 QRpedia tags?

I was intending to move this tag {{Qrpedia-adverted}} to the top of the talk page, but now see that there already is a QRpedia tag at the top of the talk page. I think only 1 tage (maybe the new one) is needed. Please go to WP:QRpedia for further discussion. Smallbones (talk) 16:32, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

Request for factual updates

Hello. I'd like to request a couple of updates that are reflective of the current state of the museum's exhibits. As museum staff I'd prefer for someone to make these edits for me. They all are in the Third Floor section of the Exhibits heading.

  • Story Avenue is now closed. There is now a new story-focused display on the * second level * called Stories from Our Community. Information can be found here. Unfortunately we did not have a press release on this display and so there are no immediately available third party sources.
  • Playscape is temporarily closed while it undergoes renovation. Since July 28, a temporary exhibit known as Mr. Bear's Playhouse has been open that includes many of the components of Playscape. There is an FAQ on the re-envisioning of Playscape here. The press release announcing the donation for the renovation, and other details, can be found here. We also have a blog post with additional details regarding the dates.

Many thanks! LoriLee (talk) 20:07, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

I see no reason why you shouldn't make that and similar changes yourself; as you're the person with the specialist knowledge, and you've already made your involvement clear. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:56, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

I agree Lori, the article is not contentious I take it. If you had had your hands slapped for COI then Id stay well clear, but I think we realise that your museum is not likely to peacock itself. However I think you should point out to your managers that this relies on you volunteering to do this.

Thanks to you both. I've made the updates and I'm happy for anyone to look them over. LoriLee (talk) 19:50, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

This is just a note to say that I made a couple of overdue factual updates to this article. If there are any concerns please let me know. LoriLee (talk) 01:29, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
