I've added this table, which appears a bit cumbersome but has some info in it that may be useful. It's no substitute for a coxes' guide to the tideway (nothing about the rules of the river, for example) but do you think it's helpful or encyclopedic? Should it be expanded to include the various rowing clubs? Or deleted to revert to the previous mention of a few major ones? TrulyBlue 08:51, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There are images on The Boat Race page should these be moved here? --Nate1481(t/c) 12:47, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Almost all the images I took for the Boat Race course are looking upstream, racing on a flood tide like the Boat Race. Would those images really be suitable for this article - aren't there a lot of cases where the course is rowed downstream? I can re-shoot (it's good exercise walking the course) but ideally that would wait until the winter months when there is less foliage around. - Pointillist (talk) 21:38, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I should have said added here. Some are still relent (e.g. the black boy) and would be better than nothing the short term --Nate1481(t/c) 09:15, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Strikes me that having upstream for the Boat Race, and downstream for the Champs Course, as apparently volunteered by Pointillist, is added value, but don't see any harm in copying one or two in the meantime. Motmit (talk) 09:43, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've copied the Boat Race photos over, but substituted different photos of Hammersmith Bridge and Putney Bridge which seem to have been taken in Tideaway Heads. James of Putney (talk) 09:12, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • If you good people would like to specify the key landmarks (e.g. for Tideway heads) I will customise the SVG course map, and swap the start and finish posts. That will also help if/when I re-shoot later in the year. - Pointillist (talk) 10:46, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Harrods Furniture Depository

[edit]

The very useful map of the course misspells depository as in Harrods Furniture Depository as depositAry. Any hope of a correction? Wodorabe (talk) 15:13, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
