What a Load of Bollocks!

[edit]

Why on Earth should a local name, for a nondescript local area, deserve a Wikipedia page all to itself? And what makes matters worse, the true meaning of the name 'Burgy' is an old derivation of 'Burgage', relative to land leases and tenancies. Look it up.

[edit]

i moved this from the article space as, obviously, that's the wrong place for it, but also because it might need addressing.

As a lifelong 'sintelliner' who used to play on the burgies during the 1960's can i point out that local people refer to the tallest burgey (college street end) as the First Burgey - the oldest burgey and the Islands brow/hinkley road burgey as the second burgey. Your article has the references reversed throughout! — User:91.109.24.118
