Today's boat race. We seem to be fast approaching a clearing of the backlog thanks to everyone!
Lead
[edit]- Worth adding it was Oxford's seventh win in a row, and it was the narrowest margin since the 1877 dead heat?
Crew
[edit]- The caption for Harcourt Gilbey Gold could wikilink his name and mention he was the stroke, and that he is pictured in 1899
- Done, but used "caricatured" rather than "pictured". The Rambling Man (talk) 16:25, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
Race
[edit]- " the Oxford stroke H. Gold" - as we know his full name, and this is the first in-prose mention, why not use it?
- "they were overlapping the Light Blue boat" - do you mean "overtaking"? Isn't "overlapping" something in Formula 1 (for example) where the leader gets so far ahead they catch up with the back markers?
- No, overlapping means there was no clear water between the boats. Overtaking means one boat's nose goes ahead of the other boat's. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:25, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
Summary
[edit]- That's all - on hold. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:03, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks again. All responded to. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:25, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
- And that's all fine. These are getting harder and harder to find problems with! (Which you might expect, really). Anyway, now passed. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:30, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
