Current BMI?
[edit]Hi, Can we put their current BMI in the Ending BMI section? I like to see how they're doing from going obese to healthy. Can we please do that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by JPSinger45 (talk • contribs) 03:23, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
Here is the current leaderboard for discussion purposes. The convention from prior seasons has been to include it here, rather than in the article, while the season is airing. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 21:31, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
Contestant | Age | Height | Start BMI |
Start Weight |
Current BMI |
Current Weight |
Difference | Percentage |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Daris | 25 | 5' 10" | 49.6 | 346 | 25.5 | 178 | 168 | -48.6% |
Ashley | 27 | 5' | 5"62.2 | 374 | 31.8 | 191 | 183 | -48.9% |
Michael | 30 | 6' | 3"65.7 | 526 | 32.7 | 262 | 264 | -50.2% |
Would it be possible to color the percentage-of-weightloss chart yellow or red for those who fall below the line? Also I would like to see more sortable charts like the one above. Thanks!Rijkstra (talk) 19:55, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
Got it. Uneven columns make charts unsortable. Also those percentages that span several weeks get in the way, but could be normalized with the formula p=1-(1-P)^(1/n) where p=weekly pct., P=pct. over span, n=number of weeks. Rijkstra (talk) 20:43, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
I felt that JPSinger45's suggestion above was a good one, and was the one thing lacking on the wiki page, so I added the Progress section today. Plastikspork, I learned (and borrowed) a lot from you--thank you! I think that the Progress section is delightfully helpful for the current season, but could be removed altogether after the finale. Rebeccajwiki (talk) 22:01, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
- I felt as though it was largely redundant information, and removed it per WP:SYNTH. As you said, it will be entirely redundant in a couple weeks, so no need to clutter the article with something which will be removed very soon. I, however, do not object to having it placed here, and I can paste it below if you want. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 20:19, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- I respectfully disagree. The current/recent weight is information not available on the rest of the page, and it is information that many people are looking for when they come to the page--and most WP users do not click on the Talk page, so placing it here places it out of their reach, effectively blocking the average person from access to the information. Rebeccajwiki (talk) 20:32, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- This is not a fansite. We are building an encyclopedia here, and this is all WP:SYNTH and unnecessary statistics. It should be removed from the article as such. If you want to start a fansite, there are plenty of free hosts for Biggest Loser bloggers. Thanks. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 20:46, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- OK; thanks for posting it here! Rebeccajwiki (talk) 04:40, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Weekly summaries
[edit]I appreciate all of the time people are taking for these TBL pages. However, there are several violations of Wikipedia policies for TV shows:
- the summaries are very very long
- the summaries use the past tense, but WP policy is to use present tense for TV show events
- not a violation, but a comment: capitalize the team color (e.g. Green) in the summaries, because they're formal names of the teams
I have been shortening the summaries and changing the tenses. I personally don't care if the summaries are long, but someone will come here who will care, and then they'll probably delete everything. And we do need to follow WP policy. My suggestion is to include only the highlights, like major interpersonal events, brief mention of the challenges and temptations, and the naming of the winners and losers. Any info that is included in the charts above, like exact losses, should not be included. Don't recap blow by blow events. QuizzicalBee (talk) 20:50, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- I agree. Thanks for all your help. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 21:34, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
Challenge week 1
[edit]After the challenge, michael from the white team was treated for exaustion on the scene by dr. h. i put this in the article, but can someone source it? here is the link : http://www.nbc.com/the-biggest-loser/photos/gallery#item=112556 --69.247.195.111 (talk) 02:20, 10 January 2010 (UTC)--69.247.195.111 (talk) 02:20, 10 January 2010 (UTC)--69.247.195.111 (talk) 02:20, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

Sent Home in Season 7
[edit]Remeber when there was sent home in Season 7. We should use the blue X for the contestants sent home that season. For example, Sione was sent home first week and returned for Week 5, but the weight is recorded for week 5, so there would be two blue boxes.24.88.86.28 (talk) 16:57, 16 January 2010 (UTC)
Please do not put too many colors on the Elimination Board. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.81.34.179 (talk) 03:31, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
- We put as many colors as we need to express the different types of situations that occur in elimination.64.252.66.6 (talk) 17:25, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
But I mean, as an example, Michael's box where his vote was taken away, it should just be a normal was not in elimination. If it was in the recap, I do not think it should be on the chart. The colors are somewhat confusing to follow. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.81.34.179 (talk) 23:39, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
bmis
[edit]i like to check the current bmis but you guys dont list the bmis for the eliminated contestents, —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.211.34.242 (talk) 00:39, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
- nbc.com/thebiggestloser has a calculator where you can check their bmi's. simply put in their height and weight and it will calculate it for you.--JereMerr 03:36, 10 February 2010 (UTC)--JereMerr 03:36, 10 February 2010 (UTC)--JereMerr 03:36, 10 February 2010 (UTC)--JereMerr 03:36, 10 February 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeremerr (talk • contribs)
- if i wanted to do that i could have used a different site and if we have current contestqnts bmis, then we should have the eliminated contestants bmis tooo01:16, 23 February 2010 (UTC)~
No Weight Chart
[edit]I was wondering why the weight chart has been eliminated. I like seeing their progress as they go along. Anyone know? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dvibert (talk • contribs) 03:49, 31 March 2010
- It has been restored. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 17:14, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
Eliminated Contestants
[edit]Why are the results for all the eliminated contestants absent from the weigh-in charts. Please include them. Christianity922 (talk) 23:22, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
"Andrea" vs "Drea"
[edit]Looks like someone went through and changed every single instance of "Andrea" to "Drea" throughout the article, except for the Week 13 summary I just wrote. Seems kind of silly because she seems to be referred to by both her full name and the nickname of "Drea" on the show. Which version of her name should we use? Should I change my summary to "Drea"? Does it even matter? 209.104.239.26 (talk) 19:45, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
- We should use Andrea. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 17:46, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Move discussion in progress
[edit]There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:The Biggest Loser: Couples which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 11:15, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
