Film’s release year

Many sources list The Ballad of a Gunfighter as a 1964 film, but I found an August 21, 1963 newspaper article about the film's premiere, as well as numerous newspaper movie ads showing that the film was shown across the United States in 1963. Movie ads show the film continued to be shown in theaters through 1965, and 1964 may have been the year when it was shown in the most theaters, but that is not when it was first released.
