Picture Possibly

[edit]

Sir Edwin Landseer painted a picture with the title, "The Hunting of Chevy Chase" that appears to depict the events in this ballad. Some editor schooled in the art of picture posting might like to enhance this article with an image of it. Cottonshirtτ 07:57, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bronte reference

[edit]

The Ballad, itself unbelievably long (103 4-line verses in one version) contains some inglorious verses, such as the fighter "whose fate was doleful dumps, for when they had his legs cut off, he fought upon his stumps", doubtless the inspiration of an infamous Monty Python skit — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.29.97.188 (talk) 19:41, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
