Dialogue

[edit]

From the article: "You remind me of a man." "What man?" "The man with the power." "What power?" "The power of hoodoo." "Who do?" "You do!".

I heard this as a child. My parents said it. But the joke is that it is repeated over and over: "Do what?" "Remind me of a man!" "What man?" etc.

I suspect this is not original in this movie, but comes from vaudeville. If wikipedia thinks it is notable, let's track it down.Wastrel Way (talk) Eric Wastrel Way (talk) 00:53, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Music

[edit]

Wagner's music is used in this movie and then perverted for humorous effect. When Cary Grant appears as the knight in shining armor, we hear Siegfried's theme ... I think from the "Rhine Journey" but I may be wrong. When Shirley Temple is shown up to the apartment of Richard Nugent, we hear a bit of the Prelude to Act 1 of Lohengrin, which then turns into lighthearted movie music.
