Suggest moving Avengers (comics) to Avengers and The Avengers (TV series) to The Avengers (and this dab page to Avengers (disambiguation)). -- JHunterJ (talk) 16:19, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re this edit: WP:MOSDAB: "In many cases, the title of the article alone will be sufficient and no additional description is necessary."

Re this edit: The movie's alternate title is ambiguous with "The Avengers". Ambiguous entries are disambiguated in the main list; they are not listed in "See also". See MOS:DABSY. -- JHunterJ (talk) 13:40, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I consider myself to be fairly laid back and open to criticism. But with all due respect, there is no point in being such a Nazi, with disambiguation pages that I have edited, considering that we share the goal of trying to improve them...In the future, I would appreciate a little more tact, by explaining how my good faith edits are incorrect, rather than providing links on talk pages to discourage someone, just because my editing style does not match your personal criteria. In addition to the personal attack, you have mistaken the guidelines for my personal criteria. I would also appreciate a lot more tact. -- JHunterJ (talk) 20:32, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I apologize for the misunderstanding. The above reply was just an elaborate way of me asking you to lighten up, but I took it personally, because you decided to specifically point out edits of mine on the talk page. It was not my intention to offend anyone, and I have no excuse for doing the same thing that I was accusing you of doing. I hope that in the future, we can both comment on the article's content, without referring to any contributors in an insulting or disparaging way. Fortdj33 (talk) 13:47, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Again, the movie's alternate title is ambiguous with "The Avengers". Ambiguous entries are disambiguated in the main list; they are not listed in "See also". See MOS:DABSY. -- JHunterJ (talk) 21:01, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I realize that someone might type in "The Avengers" and actually be looking for The Day Will Dawn, but the redirected link just conceals the actual title of the linked article, which defeats the purpose of listing it on a disambiguation page. And as a rule, piping or redirects should not be used in disambiguation pages, in order to make it clear to the reader which article is being suggested. I understand that there are exceptions, but with all due respect, I think that you are bordering on ownership of this article, by insisting that the link be displayed the way that you like it. Fortdj33 (talk) 03:23, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Others as well. Please read WP:MOSDAB#Where redirecting may be appropriate, which says "Linking to a redirect can also be helpful when the redirect contains the disambiguated term and could serve as an alternative name for the target article". -- JHunterJ (talk) 10:34, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also, wouldn't it be more WP:OWN for you to insist that the link be displayed the way that only you like it? I'd include the diffs, but that may seem tactless. -- JHunterJ (talk) 13:14, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
