Merge Laurie Forman

More significant characters on lost of other shows that do not have own article. Just kinda seems like a fan page. --0pen$0urce (talk) 13:50, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

The character article is essentially an essay, referenced by scripts only. The paragraph on the character in this show article is more than sufficient. Nothing to merge, change it to a redirect.--RadioFan (talk) 14:25, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
I agree. I am also concerned that (1) the references in the Forman article don't work and (2) even if they did, they would probably be copyright violations.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:41, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
Agree, it does seem like a fan page. This character page has not even been edited (other than an IP's edit being undone) since the merge was proposed, so if there are no objections to this within a week, I will change this page to redirect to the show's article. - Bentvfan54321 (talk) 17:29, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
As it's been almost 3 months and there are no objections to this merge, I have performed it. The Laurie Forman article redirects to the show's article as of March 1. --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 23:21, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Two years later and now someone likes it. Oh well. The above still holds: No independent reliable sources, no indication of external notability. Any sources for notability here? - SummerPhD (talk) 18:34, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Elements of the show

Most of the subsections of this appear to be unsourced cruft, with no clear indication as to what makes any of it notable. References should be provided to establish that this information has some level of significance. DonIago (talk) 03:30, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

These are major themes of the show and are as important as plot, premise, etc., none of which requires sourcing to show that it is "significant" or even to show that it is true. If you remove them because of lack of sourcing, you gut a major and interesting part of the article.--Bbb23 (talk) 05:47, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
If they're notable themes than it would seem likely that sources have discussed them. DonIago (talk) 06:27, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
Maybe, maybe not, but my contention is it's not necessary to find independent sources, so therefore the material can remain regardless. Perhaps other editors will chime in with comments to help us find a consensus. For the moment, though, the material should remain until you or I can agree (dubious) or there are sufficient comments from others to reach a consensus.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:25, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
I always support inclusion of sources, and I wouldn't oppose adding sources, but I don't see a real need here for them in the section. The vast majority of what is in the section seems fairly obvious having watched the entire series over 2 years ago. Looking at what Doniago deleted, I really don't see any issues with the content. --AussieLegend () 16:29, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Reception

This article is missing a “Reception” section, unlike most articles about TV shows, movies, or video games. Cup o’ Java (talkedits) 01:17, 22 August 2016 (UTC)

Fez's homeland/birthplace

Is it never shown where Fez had lived, but it is hinted several times during the course of the entire series progresses. He originally says that "The island has been settled by the British and Dutch, and he states that the island is 10,000 miles away." (We all know that this is an extreme exaggeration, obviously). He later states in an episode later on during the series as well: "The people are outnumbered by lizards." Or, he even says "The country has a 70 degrees temperature in the winter."

However, there was also an episode in Season 8, where one of Fez's friends, back when he was living on the island - after he had turned down Jackie - and this is when he had realizes he made a mistake. His friend states: "Come back to the Island," and Fez states: "I'll come back to Brazil." He's from one of these countries:

  • Brazi
  • St. Eustatius
  • Falkland Islands
  • Dominican Republic
  • Cuba
  • Venezuela
  • Columbia
  • Mexico
  • Netherlands
  • India
  • Puerto Rico

But I'll say since Wilmer was from Venezuela; Fez is from Venezuela.

That's what is known as original research. --AussieLegend () 08:04, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

In addition to making no sense whatsoever. 88.68.191.164 (talk) 14:23, 30 August 2014 (UTC)

How could he be from the Netherlands he does not sound like he’s from the Netherlands 06etc (talk) 15:20, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

Are you suggesting that peoples' accents are a clear indicator of where they're from? :p Regardless, this thread is over four years old and hasn't moved beyond the OR it started out as, so probably best to let it die/lie. DonIago (talk) 14:05, 30 April 2019 (UTC)

Running Gags/ Catchphrases

Some of the ones listed there are straight ridiculous. Most notably these:

The best thing to do or the best solution can be found by "The Circle".[28] Eric's attempted "secret" money stash locations are known by everyone.[29][30] Kitty will often laugh in situations she finds awkward. Whenever Red is furious, he usually goes out boating by himself for the whole day. Like in the episode when Eric told Red he is going to marry Donna. Eric has a curse every year on school picture day. A pimple appears on his face before it is his time to take his picture

It seems like whoever added these was grasping at straws to be able to add their 2 cents. Zdawg1029 (talk) 17:56, 14 February 2020 (UTC)
