Thalamic Reticular Nucleus

TRN modulates the signal traffic between other thalamic nuclei and cerebral cortex. This regulation is mainly inhibitory. The article does not clarify what this inhibitory regulation does and why this is important. Nasir Raza Awan (talk) 22:44, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The TRN is a dorsal thalamic structure?

At the top of the TRN wiki page, it says that two articles support the idea that the TRN is a "dorsal thalamic structure" in mice and zebrafish. (I have swapped the references so that the zebrafish article by Scholpp et al comes second.) But I have read through this Scholpp et al article twice, quickly, and I find no mention of this issue. The article is about zebrafish, but I don't see anything about the TRN being dorsal.

Can anyone say how the Scholpp et al article supports the dorsal structure assertion? A page number in this article would be useful. It's free to download. Alan U. Kennington (talk) 13:46, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
