[edit]Abhishek.bose2033 (talk) 21:55, 6 April 2015 (UTC) Citations include three different book sources, one scientific academic journal, two magazines and several webpages. This information is all verifiable, it has reliable third-party sources and it is entirely justifiable as a separate article. Your help is very much welcomed to improve this article.
Arkaghosh6 (talk) 23:34, 6 April 2015 (UTC) The Article about Sitaramdas Omkarnath is a valuable source of Information in Wikipedia. From neutral sources like books [Eg The Gurus of India], local publications, commentaries of other saints-- it is evident that this saint had significant contribution to religion and philosophy. Wikipedia has rightly created a page about this eminent saint from India.

AS A PREACHER / GURU
[edit]this is a future paragraph
After getting the Divine instruction, Sitaramdas started preaching of Naam all across India.
Several other activities were guided by Him e.g. establishment of temples, renovation of dilapidated temples, feeding of the poor, distribution of clothes, help to the fathers of marriageable daughters, taking on the responsibility of lifetime maintenance of hundreds of poverty-stricken families, establishment of free schools for poor students, setting up twenty-nine Akhanda Naam Kirtan centers across India, establishing temples and Asrams, and several other activities of the kind went on continuously.
Millions of men and women took spiritual initiation from Sitaram. The fame of this prophet spread far and wide, and people gathered in large numbers wherever he resided. Besides the countless commoners - ministers, armymen, politicians, celebrities came to show respect. Love, miracles, spiritual guidance, fatherly concern, wisdom was mingled in his widespread attraction. Sitaram received cordial respect from contemporary prophets like Anandamyi Ma, Mohanananda Brahmachari, Dalai Lama, Peer Vilayat Inayat Khan, Swami Chidananda, Jain Muni Sushil Kumar and many others.
After reading the book 'The Gurus of India' by Sujan Singh Uban, many foreigners had come to India to see this prophet. Irrespective of nationality, religion, caste, gender, everyone received his warm welcome, and was given spiritual guidance. Sitaram spread the universal Mahamantra to one and all -

Sourcing
[edit]Prajnanananda, Paramahamsa (1999). Paramahamsa Hariharananda: River of Compassion. Self-Pub Ltd. pp. 168–172. ISBN 978-3-90166-524-0. is unlikely to be a reliable source. I cannot actually find it because the isbn is wrong but we do not usually accept self-published books as sources and this looks likely to be one. I'm not saying that the author is wrong but anyone can write anything in a self-published book: there is no real editorial oversight. - Sitush (talk) 07:36, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- Dear Sitush, You can find this book in here "Paramahamsa Hariharananda: River of Compassion: Paramahamsa Prajnanananda: 9783901665240: Amazon.com: Books". Retrieved 17 May 2015.. Thank You Abhishek.bose2033 (talk) 17:43, 17 May 2015 (UTC)
Streams of Nectar is also very poor. It is quite obviously a hagiography and such things are not usually reliable and certainly not independent/neutral. - Sitush (talk) 07:38, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
This one is also hagiographic and isn't even needed because we seem to have other sources that are ok and support the same point regarding his education. - Sitush (talk) 07:44, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
I have just removed a link to a Flickr page. Flickr stuff is definitely self-published and in any case it did not support the claim that we made. - Sitush (talk) 07:49, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
Yes, we will try to include more neutral sources as and when available. Many pages related to contemporary saints have significant mention of Sitaramdas Omkarnath, which have been cited already. This Wiki page is being upgraded at regular intervals. Thanks for valuable inputs and helps. Arkaghosh6 (talk) 04:43, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
- Please take a look at Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources. Sources used for Wikipedia articles should have a reputation for fact checking and editorial oversight. Scholarly journals and reputable newspapers are best. Grayfell (talk) 06:34, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
The Celebration of 'Jagannath Darsan' of Thakur Sitaramdas Omkarnath citation

- No videos load for me at that link, and topictimes.com doesn't look like it meets WP:RS guidelines. Who chooses what goes on Topictimes.com? If that cannot be answered, it is a good sign that the source isn't good enough for Wikipedia. The site fails to give clear indication of editorial oversight, or credit for links. Bāul Philosophy, APH Publishing, 2003
[edit][...] Then there was my spiritual master, Sitaram Das Omkarnath. Sitaram Das Omkarnath personifies an incarnation, an avatara.Calling him a yogi, or a rsi, would be inappropriate; he is an avatara. he is God Himself, God Ownself. He had descended in a human form, and this Sita Ram Omkarnath was a truly self-contained person. There is no other self-controlled person of his caliber found in this age; I am not seeing any single such person with my eyes.[...] pag 511 "Bāul Philosophy". Retrieved 17 May 2015.
