I get the feeling "textual studies" might be a better title as the name of the field of study rather than the current slightly ambiguous title. "scholarship" can refer to an action by a scholar ("Bart Ehrman's textual scholarship is cutting edge and has been widely acclaimed by his peers.")
But I'm historically pretty bad at these things -- does anyone have an argument in favour of the present title?
