Former section in Dallas south of Loop 12
[edit]The section south of Loop 12 (Northwest Highway) still shows up on some maps. The official City of Dallas interactive map shows it starting at or somewhere south of the intersection of Maple and Cedar Springs, then going north (actually northwest) on Maple to Oak Lawn, then east (actually northeast) and later north on Oak Lawn. Oak Lawn changes its name to Preston somewhere between Wycliff and Armstrong. This map shows 289 continuing north to and past Loop 12.[1] I have left the article alone in deference to the referenced document which shows that the section south of Loop 12 was removed from the state highway system years ago. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 04:24, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
